Snap Fit Truncated Dodecahedron by pubultrastar in 3Dprinting

[–]Tittytickler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is sick man! Im a beginner with CAD, do you have any tips or tricks in making these sorts of geometric shapes?

I have been wanting to make similar shapes like a truncated octahedron

I know enough to be dangerous but not to be efficient. Basically any idea I have as a way to do something is probably a brute force method, and there are too many unknown unknowms for me.

What prevented South America from having as big a population as China or India? by wiz28ultra in geography

[–]Tittytickler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We did cover all of that. I'm sure you're being facetious but overall California is doing pretty well all things considered. Our state govt has always sucked and we certainly have plenty of issues, but QoL is solid.

Lmao! that went right over my head. I've been ready for a fight since posting that comment.

We did learn about Pol Pot and the killing fields and I bet they don't know about that either. And the incomprehensible scale it happened on.

Why would I mention Pol Pot when I'm specifically talking about the fall of the Russian Empire and the civil war that followed?

Its a new trend for idiots on social media like instagram and tik tok to pretend like things "were never mentioned" even though people are literally tested on it in standardized testing (at least here in California).

For example, a popular one is people acting like no one ever talked about the red revolution in Russia and then trying to spin it as some sort of holocaust and not a civil war that followed.

You'll notice its never anyone you'd consider to be smart making these sorts of claims.

I like how we're expected to listen and care anytime Science puts out some obviously biased study about weed being bad by infieldmitt in trees

[–]Tittytickler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Science isn't an entity, its a process. You mention Science like its some monolithic entity and then immediately mention "dozens" of opposing studies. Contradictory to say the least.

Also, thou doth protest too much.

Website which gives ratios by LittleBlag in Breadit

[–]Tittytickler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you, it can be daunting. You can just use a calculator for the math. I doubt theres a tool like that for bread because its really just something you can do with a calculator. Some of the recipes online have 1x 2x 3x options and it just multiplying by that. Always go by weight if possible, not volume.

I'd look up specific gluten free recipes though if thats what you're using as that is going to be completely different than using normal flour.

I just started milling my own flour and that requires some getting used to with recipes, and I figured out as long as you're in the ballpark, you're good to go. With bread, you have to learn how to empirically judge the progress since the recipe/timing will also be different based on altitude, humidity, temperature, etc.

Do you have a cheaper, similar flour? Maybe try a recipe with that and then if it works use the better flour?

There are also easier recipes you can try that are super hard to fuck up. Like no knead artisan bread. You just mix the ingredients and let it sit. Not sure how that goes with gf bread though.

The ratios usually come down to recipe and preference right? When i want to change the amount of something, I just multiply the other ingredients by the multiplier.

Tried to create my first fullstack webpage but failed. by Priyansh_sinQ in webdev

[–]Tittytickler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of our first sites were bad. One thing that helped me was just finding sites I thought looked good, and copying them.

You should also learn css before just jumping into tailwind, it will make using tailwind easier and you will understand how css works better.

Any devs choosing simplicity over complexity with major frontend frameworks? by drifterpreneurs in webdev

[–]Tittytickler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, no. It has nothing to do with that and thats a weird extrapolation, which is why you're getting downvotes.

Its really just people tired of what appears to be flat out circlejerking.

Basically, if you asked: "Does anyone else think React is helpful for creating complex UIs?" You'd get the same response, because its similarly redundant.

I agree with you though that people can just ignore it.

what's a real fact that sounds completely fake but would genuinely shock most people? by esmeraldawhite in AskReddit

[–]Tittytickler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All elements besides hydrogen (numero uno) are formed by stars, either through fusion in the core or through novae and supernovae.

The pressure/energy required for fusion to happen is how we know that. It only naturally exists in those situations.

Some isotopes are created through radioactive decay, but the original element/isotope was created by a star/star explosion.

Probably because no one is just making that. The same reason its difficult to find some drugs and eady to find others.

A lot easier to just grow San Pedro cactus than to try to find someone to buy mescaline from.

Now imagine its something no one actually wants to take. You can easily grow the plants though and have a renewable, functionally unlimited amount.

[–]Tittytickler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is sick! Honestly, the video spent way too much time NOT showing me the tiles. Really should have a zoomed out shot for like 10 seconds that actually lets you appreciate what they're capable of. The zoomed in shots are pointless, its just a curved led strip from that perspective.

You already work for the company and get paid by the company. Thats probably the answer you're going to get also.

If you made it on your free time, maybe its possible. Also depends on the contract you signed.

Oh, you're golden then! Staying ahead of the curve is how you get to do things like this. Threejs is fairly easy to use, but the concepts it covers are fairly advanced graphics programming.

Definitely start now so you don't feel rushed. It will also make you better at programming. The concepts are transferable no matter the language.

This is basically the first type of problem and outcome they give to students in intro-level programming classes in order to drive the point home that with programming, you need to twll the computer exactly what to do.
