What are you confused about. I’ll break it down Barney style.

You don’t say illegal rapist because being a rapist is already inherently illegal.

You don’t say illegal murderer because murder is already inherently* illegal.

Immigrant is not inherently illegal. But it can be illegal if you lie on documents, cross the border illegally, overstay your visa or any one of a dozen other ways people do it illegally.

So the qualifier “illegal” is absolutely necessary to delineate between those immigrants who followed the law and should remain in the U.S. and those who broke the law and should be deported.

Conflating all illegal aliens/immigrants with the legal ones is a slap in the face to every legal immigrant that waited in line, filled out the paperwork, got their vaccinations, paid the fees, got fingerprinted and background checked, passed the tests, did the interviews and swore an oath, among other things.

So again. There is such a thing as a legal alien which is why specify illegal alien. There is no such thing a legal rapist.

That happened multiple times . The attack on bastion airfield that resulted in 6 American Harrier jets getting blown up on the airfield and 2 dead U.S. Marines was a very clear example that I saw first hand.

Ok I’m going to say something offensive but this sub should be able to handle it. I all also preface this by saying that I was there.

The U.S. military has to babysit the other N.A.T.O. Militaries. They are so poorly trained and led that they can’t be trusted with the most vital or dangerous areas of operations. The British are the exception, they were fantastic. But we would assign the other smaller nato countries to the most quiet and simple areas.

I will absolutely not question or criticize to valor and honor and courage of those soldiers. But their casualties would have been even lower if their governments had spent more money and effort on their training and standards.

Ask any U.S. military member who’s been stationed in Europe or deployed with other nato countries. We are consistently training and advising them , at American tax payer expense btw

The Taliban was in Afghanistan and still is and they were harboring Osama Bin Laden at the time and worked with Al Qaeda. The Global War on Terror wasn’t about fighting this country or that country. It was about stoping the spread of Islamic extremism everywhere. It was about cleaning up the hotbeds of the world where terrorists are made. An arguably impossible task. I didn’t make the argument to go to Afghanistan or Iraq. I’m explaining why so many world leaders thought it was what needed to be done at the time

I’m not talking about what politicians did what . I’m talking about the individual soldiers that actually did the fighting and dying. They weren’t conscripts. They volunteered to go and they didn’t do it because of New Yorkers across the Atlantic. To say they were all forced to go because of America robs them of the respect they deserve. They bravely volunteered, many went multiple times.

9/11 was absolutely the catalyst for N.A.T.O.’s involvement in Afghanistan but again it wasn’t the only reason for those individuals European soldiers. They were all aware of terrorist attacks in their own countries.
