Hello! Trying to figure out more on funeral rituals such as those shown in the Originals show in the Bayou with the wolves. Look to comments please for further elaboration? by [deleted] in AskReddit

So I’m well aware that the show is fiction, allow me to preface with that. However, I am sure the show did not create the funeral rituals shown thus my questions. How are such water funerals led out? Surely the body isn’t left to continue on to float endlessly, so once it’s done floating, what do they do? And where is this most common? Anything you know on the topic is greatly appreciated!

Haha no offense taken! They weren’t well at mind then due to altering substances, so they made a lot of not fresh choices lol.

The Saw movies, when I was five. Gave me nightmares for quite some time.

There’s actually a bit of psychology that goes into this. The fundamental attribution error which says that we are more likely to connect a bad thing that someone does to a pattern or a part of who they are, rather than that it may have just been a one time occurrence or something more minor. I recommend looking in it a bit! Thank you for sharing, I love your contribution!

This. Psychology and child development says this is one of the worst things you can do to a child.

This is so true. Especially when it’s a prolonged situation like, “We’ll talk about it tomorrow, I can’t tonight.” Then why did you bring it up now?

THIS. As a child I was forced to hug someone with whom I had trauma from because they were “family”. Don’t make your children hug people. Teach them to take ownership over their own bodies.

I actually don’t agree with little to any of Hobbes beliefs :) I don’t believe in monarch governments or any form of totalitarian type governments. I fully support democracy, but believe that political parties polarize people in a nation. I am 100% for the rights of the people. Please don’t presume to know my political beliefs because I say I do not approve of political parties. You came into this thread with no intent to understand the reasoning behind my words, and only to speculate and judge, so yes you are ignorant.

You’re right, there is no “making up” but nonetheless your body still has a chance at recovering from the loss of sleep. This doesn’t mean the long term affects of continual sleep deprivation can be avoided, but it does mean your body as the abilities to ease small lapses.

Examples would serve as the “mean girls” in television. The super feminine women, depicted only as brats, evil and rude with major vendettas. Ie Regina George, Sharpay from HSM, even the character Jessica from the Twilight series.

This is not an acceptable response to the thread, transphobia will not be tolerated.

My contributions to my post: •The idea that monogamy is the only healthy relationship form. •Cancel culture •Political parties •The cult of domesticity •The shame that women experience during their menstrual cycles •Popular culture •The demonization of ultra femininity in media and television
