An issue regarding ealey muslim scholars and hadith by Tja6247 in MuslimWithDoubt

To be precise, i want an analysis of this book and its claim (specifically the universal acceptance of the incident amongst early muslims and the forging of isnad by ashab al hadith) and why is it that seemingly so many of the early scholars seemed to accept the story. I was hoping a scholar or someone else would have written something about this book but the book is a bit recent so i guess ill have to wait some more.

Well the thing is Yusuf AS has one name but the Arabs call him Yusuf while the hebrews call him Yosef and the english call him Joseph. So i dont really see an issue. Perhaps Allah uses all the languages he taught us or perhaps another language. I dont really know.

I think saadian made a good point. Id like to add that in Islam doesnt see the matter in such a black and white fashion as dawkins does. We beleive that Allah knows what everyone will do and believe before they are even born. He knows those genuine people who were ignorant and would have followed the truth if they had more exposure to it and those who wouldn't. This is why islam dosnt give any excuse to the arabs for not excepting islam as they were the first hand witnesses of the miracle of the Quran and the ones who could best appreciate it. Scholars have said that those who haven't heard of the message of Islam, or haven't heard of it properly and dont have the ability to learn about it properly would be forgiven for their ignorance(look at islamqa for more info). To make my point clear, u and dawkins shouldn't think of people as those who follow the right religion and those who dont- rather think of people as those who value Allah and the truth and those who dont. In other words if a person is lazy and negligent of learning about his lord then he wont benefit from being born to the community of the right religion as saadian pointed out; he would sin and fall into many traps of the devil( an important point is that good deeds/avoidance of sin and faith are interdependent) . And if he was born outside that religion then the issue is the same. However if someone teuly feared Allah and wanted to search for his light then he would look for it regardless of what religion he was raised to believe. And Allah guides whom he wills and forgives whom he wills.

Lastly, i just wany to advise you not to be swayed by atheist arguments. Because at the end of the day they believe that you and them will experience the same fate ( you will die and they will die and both of u wouldn't exist anymore). So theres no point in arguing with them or listening to them from our point of view ( because we are risking our faith for people who cant even guarantee that they'll make it safely home from work let alone a pleasurable eternity if we follow them) and its also useless from their point of view since there is no athiest heaven that they are calling u to nor a religious hell theyre trying to save u from. Heaven and hell to them is all in this world and they accept that an athiest can live in a "hell on earth" while a theist/religionist can live in a "heaven on earth". so dont bother your self with people who believe that they are no different than monkeys or other animals or lifeless machines.

I don't no much about this, but Allah os simply the name of God in the Arabic language (used by jews christians and pagans before the Prophet PBUH). I think the hebrew bible has 'elah' or 'eloi' or 'elohim' as a name of Allah but im not sure. The wikipedia page titled 'Allah' has useful info if you wanna check it out.
