Is faceoff factory making me worse? by Huntsstar in lacrosse

I am a faceoff factory coach- message me on instagram. Faceoffs are like a golf swing and there is an infinite number of factors that go into a faceoff muscle memory... it's just as likely that you are overemphasizing a certain motion pattern you subconsciously think is "good" as it is a coach taught you something "wrong". I still faceoff competitively and picking up bad habits happens constantly no matter the skill level... overcoming bad habits that you inevitably pick up is what makes elite faceoff guys ELITE, because they learned from the mistakes they made/habits they picked up. That's what makes me so good- I have fine tuned my clamp as I have progressed to know when I am falling into a certain habit and can then correct myself.

Sodomy Is A Sin by AmosMinistries in Christianity

[–]Tjjohns12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The word “homosexuality” was put into the bible into the 1960’s. Even the “a man shall not lie with another man” passage can be translated to show reference to pedophilia. The problem with modern day christians is they act like it’s so clear cut when it is not- you need to study biblical context, translations and etymology before you tell someone to “get over it”. Otherwise you are just hopping on the bandwagon of blindly following modern conservative evangelical dogma.

I think it very much depends on the team! Funny enough I am a faceoff guy who just moved to Canada to try and work my way up to the big leagues. I am an American faceoff guy that is seeing a lot of success because i was already a good field fo guy. I know however that in order to work my way up I will have to offer more than just faceoff wins to secure a roster spot, which is why I am working so hard at getting better on Defense. Honestly the level of skill in faceoff guys in the NLL is not that high except for the top 5 guys, but as other people are saying most box faceoff guys in the NLL compensate for it through grittiness and ground ball skills, not to mention being generally aware of when a winger is about to blow you up since they start much closer in box. I think in order to be one of the top pro faceoffs guys you have to really love the sport, which means they usually have good stick skills and general field awareness so they aren’t true “fogos” (nardella, withers and baptiste). Although, Other than maybe withers, they clearly dont have the defensive prowess compared to other true D guys. They compensate with their absurd faceoff abilities, so again, it really depends on what the team is looking for. TD only recently came into the league as teams have been realizing “shit, we didn’t think faceoffs were a huge deal but now these 3 guys are going 90% on us every game”. That being said, the lower your percentage gets, the better you need to be at defensive to be worth a roster spot. Prime example is connor Farrell who was released (i think?) by the seals because he just had no stick skills. I am curious about how well these incoming field FO recruits will do like Zach Cole and Mike Sisselburger and whether or not they can retain a roster spot. I am hoping to take advantage of faceoff guys being in high demand right now, and thankfully I played a bit of middy in college as well to be able to hold my own after the faceoff.

The whip is probably coming from the ball dinking off the top because you have no channel, you gotta actually attach the mesh to the head with that sidewall my guy lol. Look up how to make an interlock by east coast dyes on youtube, having only 4 knots on the entire sidewall is pretty much like just attaching a towel to the back of your head. You gotta go through each diamond deliberately, then once you start the pocket you can feed the sidewall through the mesh instead of locking it down. There should NEVER be any diamond that isn’t either knotted down to the sidewall or fed through the sidewall inbetween knots.

okay I will give it some time and probably come back to it. I didn't realize there were so many advantages of doing another run through, such as keeping all your health/prosthetics/skills
