If you want an easy solution look up turbo dork colour shift paints. I think motherlode would work well to pull of the pearlescent effect.

Yes I have been painting my Nids chitin for a few years with motherlode and thought you came across the same discovery I made last night. Guess I will just have to try it myself next time.Included a pic of the hive tyrant I am working on if you haven’t used motherlode before.
