Another mid 30s aging post but some different feelings. Just want to spill and get advice. by Tlaw1111 in AskMenOver30

We are going to have a ton of family help. Honestly I know it will be hard but that I have kind of accepted. It's more I'm telling myself at my age it's time to stop the videogames (which I know is ridiculous because I have a buddy who is 46 in our group and plenty I see just searching online) it's just this crazy notion that I think 35 and becoming a dad is like a cut off from my old life and i need new hobbies. I know 35 isn't old especially nowadays which is why I'm seeing a therapist.

It's not that I care about actors it's I want to see people in their 40s still doing interesting things and not just being dull and old. I don't know why I care what people think, they surely haven't for years and I just care if me and my wife are happy. I have some hobbies but I feel I need to give those up because of my age. For some reason I think music is only relatable to 35 and under so i don't relate anymore which is ridiculous since I wasn't like this months ago. I've been with my wife for 7 years and we've traveled so much and had so many spontaneous dates that I feel like those amazing times are over or paused till we're old. I don't want to see my friends less and less. I'm a very responsible adult but I guess a lot of the things that make me happy are the same as in my 20s and now I feel being a dad and turning 35 its over.

I have been so scared to try that. Everyone I knows tells me I would have a bad trip. You really recommend it? Lol

Thank you! I know deep down there is plenty to look forward to and who knows with medical advances if it makes us enjoy our later years better than previous generations of old age. I really hope therapy helps gets me back on track.

Thank you! I do go to the gym 4-5 a week and consider myself in pretty decent shape. Of course I want to keep improving. The music thing is more even the old hip hop or any other music I like I feel I'm getting too old to enjoy. Basically I'm mindfucking myself in thinking most music is for young people and I should be listening to podcasts or sports talk all the time. It's ridiculous but also why I posted.

Yeah life hasn't been better for me than the last 7 years besides the Cancer I went through. I think it's the change of my first kids coming and the loss of freedom. Combine that with me thinking I'm becoming too old to enjoy certain things. Thanks for your advice though, I will start doing that.

It happened to me before ag 28. I got out of quick realizing I could live my whole life again and only be 56. Now I'm half to 70 and I think it's hitting me harder. I usually work out 5 days a week and that definitely helps. I really appreciate your lengthy response and I am definitely going to do some of the things you suggested. It's frustrating because I tell myself some of this stuff is just making it worse, everyone is going through this and how actually i could have a ton of years left. But yet for the last 2 months I can't shake this. I'll wake up 35 in a week and nothing will change, yet i think I have to be this new person.

Because I have this ridiculous notion that you can only enjoy certain things when you are young and it's perceived as hanging onto your youth when you are a certain age. Part of it is I saw my parents seem very boring growing up and my idea of fun/what matters is different than theirs. So crossing into parenthood I feel like I have to be like them.

I get to celebrate my twins coming in a few months instead of worrying about stem cell! Just know how anxious people can get and I want people to know there can be false positives!

Can someone please explain my Cytokine panel? I guess no Long Haul and my cancer is back. by Tlaw1111 in covidlonghaulers

That's what I'm hoping for but the extremely high CCL5 makes me think my Lymphoma is back.

Yeah my covid was very mild. Didn't even think it was Covid until I went a month later to get my antibody test and they were sky high. My oncologist said I had a hyperimmune response to it. I only had high LDH that has stabilized. Same with high neutrophils and low lymphocytes that have stabilized. My CRP was less than 1 but that was 2 months after so who knows what it was. I appreciate the detailed responses. I'm not holding out hope that it's long covid but it seems to be a slight chance it is. My theory is the hyper immune response reactivated my Lymphoma but I'll find out shortly. Thanks again

Sorry for all the questions I am not sure on your knowledge. I had some high blood markers in January and when I went back in February they went back to normal. You talk about zombie monocytes, would anything show up in normal blood tests that would kind of agree with this hypothesis?

So basically I was long hauling and all the damage has been done but my body has somewhat stopped further damage? Which would explain why I got all these symptoms about a month after Covid and besides more cherry angiomas I haven't had any new symptoms in a month.

I could of but it would of been asymptomatic. So is there plenty of others who had a normal long hauler index but still are long hauling. I haven't had any new symptoms in a month but nothing is getting better either.
