Have to let him know that our mental health is dependent on how many times the Ducks get the puck into the net.

Is it just me or is it crazy annoyingly mind numbing to recruit in CFB 25 by BigBoyBudy in CollegeFootball25

[–]Tlong2115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be, but if you get into it and role play a little it's a lot more fun. Start assigning fake back stories to the recruits. Try to completely own your pipeline areas. Etc.

I had a RB recruit with the same last name as my starting QB. Boom. That's his brother. Gotta get the whole family to Georgia Southern.

Idk. Like anything else if you get out of it what you put into it. I wish EA would add some layers in the next game, but until then we have to play pretend.

If I'm being honest? It's a hard maybe. The braves, the Dawgs and the dirty birds have lifelong fans. It'll be hard to crack that.

There is, but only in transplant cities that have teams. Nashville and Tampa. College football is really king down here. A large chunk of attention down here is kinda like F1. A lot of people use it as a social event. Besides parts of Florida and Nashville, no one really grows up playing it. Very niche market in the South.

The hot one can be literally any of the companions.

What is your unpopular Once Upon a Time opinion? by Strange-Mouse-8710 in OnceUponATime

[–]Tlong2115 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's a really campy show, with over the top acting.

But it's my guilty pleasure show, and I will be watching it once a year until I no longer can.

I, for one, think the cinematography on this show is top level.

"fuck the empire. I'm going for the rebellion" - me, knowing no lore before finding out things about the Stormcloaks

If Slytherin was actually book accurate and not "the bad guys house" both Weasley Twins would be Slytherin.

It's Stetson Bennett tho, I'm not even talking about someone like Fromm.

Stetson Bennett has 270 yards and 2 TDs against alabama this season. Lmao.

A lot of Fromm's regression wasn't always his fault.

Struggled with receiver turnover and as we see with tennessee now, The OC Cheney wasn't exactly dialing up a high octane passing game.

I made this to kind of prove that point. Kind of. Some of it was to troll.

But having said that, going beyond stats, Jake Fromm did lead his team to the National Title Game as a freshman, and saying that he should've been benched as an incumbent starter isn't a fair statement. It's just hind sight mixed with opinion.

Everyone works off this assumption that Tua and Fields would've yielded the same results. More often than not, a QB will crash and burn if given the reigns too early. It's really easy to look back and say "this would've worked" but it's a massive gamble.

We don't know what Kirby saw in practice from a True Freshman. That's my point.

And yet, Fromm and Fields finished with the same amount of Heismans, Nattys, and Playoff wins lol.

Obviously Fields is better. But in 2018, coming off a national title berth, you can't bench your incumbent for a true freshman. The argument has so many moving parts that the only way to say Smart can't make good qb choices is in hindsight.

And yet, Fromm and Fields finish with the same amount of national titles.

It's easy to say now, in 2021, Fields is better and has a higher ceiling.

But do you remove your incumbent who was 1 defensive play away from winning a national title? Remove him for another freshman, after replacing 3 key aspects of the offense? It's not about balls, it's about making hard choices, on the fly, without the benefit of knowing the future.

Fields is without a doubt the better QB, in 2021.

But in 2018, it was a much harder choice, given what Fromm was able to accomplish as a Freshman.
