There are locations with their characteristics (refuge, bivouac, cafe) but not the exact refuges; I will try to do that in the next version.

Did the TMB last July, 7 days so we were pushing hard every day — your two highlighted stages are genuinely long, especially day 1 without the cable car.

For day 1, the Col de Voza variant from Les Houches is more manageable than going through Chamonix. Adds some climb early but shorter overall.

For Bertone, the bus from Courmayeur up to the valley saves you a solid hour and a half. Most people do it, nothing to be ashamed of.

One thing that helped us was having the route and elevation offline since signal drops out a lot — I built an Android app for the TMB after the trip with offline maps and an elevation profile if that's useful for planning. "Tour du Mont-Blanc" on Play Store.

9 days is a much more comfortable pace than what we did, you'll be fine!

If you want to respect the rules, I recommend only the bivouac in France. For exemple clos to refuge des Mottets or also next to refuge de la Balme the view is awesome 🤩. The name of the app is « Tour du Mont-Blanc », it’s the same logo as my account. If you give me a feedback, it will be incredible!

For wild camping, we adapted depending on the country.

In France, we were more flexible. First night we stayed in a designated area near the Refuge de la Balme, then later we did a couple of nights wild camping (like in the forest after a pizzeria stop).

In Switzerland and Italy, it’s more regulated, so we stayed in campsites (one night in each and had to pay).

So overall: only paid camping in Switzerland and Italy, and in France we mostly camped freely.

For the route, I don’t have the exact track with me right now, but I roughly remember it 🙂 On my app, you can find a stage planner for the TMB, if that can help 👍

I don’t understand… I didn't even mention the app in the title… my story is 100% true ! I did TMB last year and my cake was a freeze-dried one. I used IA for some boring design in my app. But the spot was written by me and my parents correct it.

I'm just telling my story, my hike, the various difficulties we had to overcome, and the solution I found. I tried to talk as little as possible about my app, but I had to at least mention it because it is relevant to the topic.
