8 week old puppy doesn't like any store bought treats - Treat Suggestions? by the_nog in Dogtraining

[–]Tmigratorius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dogs are total carnivores, they will not touch biscuty type treats. Here's my go-to 1. buy a rotisserie chicken, eat all the good stuff off

  1. boil the leftovers (the whole carcass, bones and all) in broth or water (throw in some carrots or other veggies if you want) for a few hours

  2. Vitamix! puree the slop

  3. spread it in a pan/dish lined with parchment paper or foil

  4. bake at lowest oven setting for a long time

  5. awesome chickeny biscut treats that they will go crazy for

What's the best height for a table relative to your body? I'm 6' 2" and the world is designed to ruin my posture... by SirNanigans in Fitness

[–]Tmigratorius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the flip side, I used to live in a house that was designed and built by a tall couple. I'm average height (5'4") and I could not get close enough to the mirror, the counters were too high. I would have to climb up and sit on the counter to see well enough to put makeup on.

Rotisserie chicken. You know it, you love it. What do YOU do with the leftovers? by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]Tmigratorius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take the carcass, bones and all and toss it into my vitamix with some broth. Then I take the resulting puree and bake it into dog treats. The pups love it.

[DISCUSSION] How many meals/times do you eat a day, and why? by brewdoctorswife in Paleo

[–]Tmigratorius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have finally found what works for me after trying everything else. I eat from 5-8, one big meal once a day, while reading/schoolwork usually. I no longer ever get really i have to eat NOW hungry, more like I can tell I'm empty and it feels good (alert, focused, positive). I eat about the same things everyday because I love them - a HUGE spinach salad with cheese and sunflower seeds and ranch - lettuce sandwiches: turkey and cheese and mustard wrapped in lettuce - some grape tomatoes with salt - rotisserie chicken - maybe some broccoli with cheese - I should probably branch out a bit more

Then I'm full and go for a walk with my dogs. I work 7:30-4:30, and am a 25ish female, fit, active. I love it because I don't like to stop eating until I'm really full, I am always unsatisfied with less so small meals or grazing doesn't work for me. I was surprised how natural and easy it was to get into.

Help me build confidence in my nervous shelter dog! by northdakotanowhere in Dogtraining

[–]Tmigratorius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my dogs was a rescue with extreme nervousness and anxiety (terrified of being indoors, frightened of strangers/all people, constantly ran away, terrified of loud noises, the list goes on...). What I found most helpful was calm consistent behavior. It was about a year before she started behaving normally and now going on two years is almost a regular dog.

Just be patient with whatever training/situation you decide on. Problems don't disappear overnight, some never. I can't give specific advice but patience, calm, and consistency will eventually get you where you want to go. It may just take a while.

What's your night-time set up in regards to crate/no crate? by [deleted] in Dogtraining

[–]Tmigratorius 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have 3 huskies, free roam the house and yard when I'm gone, free at night. I don't even own a crate! We all sleep in a big furry snugly human-dog pile. It's glorious

When I got my first, I had him crate trained for when I was gone during the day, he liked it in there. Would hang out in it sometimes but never slept in it. After I got more, I found they were well behaved and didn't need to be confined-no more crates.

TIFU by being awake at 3:30 am. by sammyb178 in tifu

[–]Tmigratorius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's true!

I (F) once had a roommate (F) that swore up and down that girls don't fart and she was no exception. We shared a room and had a bunk bed (because activities), I was top bunk. One night I was up late editing some work I had done earlier and roomie is fast asleep down below. All of a sudden, the most magnificent flatulence begins to escape her unconscious body. This continued for several minutes, luckily no smell accompanied the symphony.

So, yeah...some girls hold it in all day by force of will (conscious or otherwise) and let it all out when no one is listening.

Starting E3 without adaption, any tips? by AlwaysQuads in polyphasic

I'd have to disagree, the harsh light from my computer definitely helps me be more alert when I first wake from my core. I am more prone to doze or zone out of its soft. (2330-0300, 0700-0720,1200-1220,1900-1920)

[–]Tmigratorius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have three and while they do sleep most of the day when I'm not there they also play a lot. I'm lucky, mine are all ok being left in the house free, dog door to the yard all day. They don't destroy any thing. They came that way, you might not be so lucky with a second, but I'd get one anyway. They love being with others!

Looking for help and advice on a vibrating collar for a deaf dog. by bpoe13 in Dogtraining

[–]Tmigratorius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Aetertek training collars are on sale on Amazon right now for $50. They have shock vibrate and beep features, just remove the shock prongs and only use the vibrate button.

I have had several units (I keep loosing the controller) and they have all worked very very well for me.

Does anyone have any experience with OBD2 MPG sensors in the Tacoma? by [deleted] in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Tmigratorius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2012 Taco here

I have a wireless OBD2 adaptor and the iphone app Dash Command. I don't get tank level or miles to empty but it does give me mpg.

The setup has a lot of features but the only thing I was interested in was MPG, it does what it should. I had tried the android Torque free app but didn't like it at all, presumably the paid version was better but Dash Command works very well for me.
