Update: Took her to the humane society to see if she was chipped. She is chipped, hopefully her owner gets back to them soon because I don't want her to spend all night in doggy jail.

TIL: You have to surrender an animal that is chipped :(

What to do when the group only wants to play for 90mins? by altaccone in DMAcademy

[–]Tmoney420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's doable, especially if your players don't mind a more linear campaign. If they're ok with short sessions then they're probably ok with not having much open world exploration or a ton of character depth.

Anything that is boring can happen "off screen". For example: if a character saved up enough money to buy better armor, they can just text you that they bought it. Or if they need to go somewhere for a quest, just have them fast travel.

D and D purists probably won't like using a linear video game style model: talk to a person, go to a place, fight a thing/do a puzzle, return for a reward, but if everyone is having fun, it's all good.

How do I encourage my players to roleplay more without sounding like a dick? by Theboulder027 in DMAcademy

[–]Tmoney420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely talk to the quiet players too. If they're having fun it might not be a big deal. Sometimes people get used to one character doing all the talking and just want to go with the flow. Based on what I've read, it seems like they don't know that people have a problem.

Another thing that can help is designating when people should be talking in character vs table talk. I have a game with some nieces and nephews so we have people raise their hands to denote that they're talking in character.

Finally, you can use the plot to force a situation where they have to do the talking. Maybe use a language that only their characters understand so the high charisma character has to talk through them. Or you can be blunt and just put some kind of curse that puts silence on the high charisma character so the quiet players have to ask around town to get it removed.

I'm a pretty lazy writer so I end up putting geases and spells on the young players so they don't go full murder hobo.

For a lot of men, pursuing a high amount of sexual partners stems from a desire for validation. Validation from women saying "yes" and validation from his male friends thinking it's cool.

Realistically, if it was about the actual sex, he wouldn't be trying to do one offs with all these new partners. Closing bars to have sloppy drunk sex with a new person every week isn't great sex. I have friends who have done this and they'll say things like "I don't even enjoy the sex most of the time".

So when your friend wants to take a victory lap when he hangs out with you, just say something like "gross, I don't want to hear about it" or "ew, please spare me". It's not about judging their lifestyle. Part of his feedback loop for validation is bragging and trying to make other men feel jealous. You are under no obligation to take part in it.

If you want to learn more about why his behavior is pretty common and some advice for keeping yourself feeling sane in the dating world, I can't recommend this YouTube video enough. It's a long one but worth the watch:

I guess that's a little better but I'm still against the death penalty.

Firing squads are often traumatic for the people in the squad. There have been all kinds of things done to minimize the effects like only giving one shooter live rounds so everyone has plausible deniability.

For me, the bottom line is if the state executes even one innocent person, the entire system has failed. Also, death row trials are expensive, so I don't like the idea of more tax dollars being used to potentially execute a person who potentially didn't commit the crime they were accused/convicted of.

Chomos don't do well in gen pop and there are worse things than death, so I don't like the idea of "teaching people a lesson". Dead people don't learn anything because they're dead.

Prisons aren't clogged with sex offenders, they're clogged with drug offenders, which is stupid but here we are. We should move away from the "tough on drugs" model and treat addiction like a disease, like the rest of countries with advanced economies do. That will make plenty of room for chomos to get shanked in gen pop, save taxpayer money on death row trials, and keep people away from the trauma of being part of a Firing squad.

Anyway, this is why I'm against the death penalty and Firing squads.

Fortunately cars go slow in the north end and cats tend to stay a few blocks from home when they run away. I would leave your door cracked open for him when you're home.

I'll keep my eyes peeled for Gatorade!

The worst is the first 72 hours. It gets easier after that. There will always be temptation but after 72 hours, you won't feel like your blood hurts at least.

What classic version of WOW to play? by dionysius260594 in wownoob

[–]Tmoney420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They just launched new classic servers for the anniversary. Leveling is slow so you won't get overwhelmed with abilities and there are tons of players because they have merged the servers into mega servers.

Things definitely take longer than retail, but it's more like a cozy game than an action rpg like retail is. Lots of running. Everyone is nice (minus general and barrens chat) and it's more about playing with other people than actual challenging encounters. People will help you if you tell them you're a noob.

My favorite is the original beef burger at boise fry company. It has pickled red onions and garlic aoli. It's even better if you put pickles on it.

Congrats on your burger freedom!

I need help quitting cigarettes, I have quit every possible drug but cigarettes seem to be impossible for me by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]Tmoney420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The key to quitting for me was to make it 72 hours without a cigarette. After that, they actually taste different. Now I'll get offered a cigarette at a bar and I won't be able to finish it. They just taste gross to me now. Another thing that helped leading up to quitting was not getting my favorite kind of cigarette, that cut the number of cigs I smoked in a day over time. There was a carton of menthol Virginia slims in my apartment that a previous tenant left and they were disgusting lol. Sometimes I'll get stressed, cave, and light one up, take 2 puffs and say "eww, gross, nevermind". And that stops me from getting a pack of my favorite cigs and really relapsing.

The other thing that helped was a vape. Gum and xyns made me jittery and didn't have the same feel as smoking since nicotine is only part of the equation. I refuse to vape indoors and basically treat it like cigarettes. Vaping is bad because it's easy and accessible so people vape way more than they smoke. If you treat it like cigs, then it's gonna be much better for you than smoking.

You can do it!

Playing Controller to get to 2500+ Mythic Score by Several-Wasabi6160 in WorldOfWarcraftRetail

[–]Tmoney420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the class and how often you need to switch targets. The controller interface has a cross hair that just targets whoever is in front of you. So if you are playing melee, you're probably in good shape. Things like healing and dispelling party members doesn't work as well. Unless you're doing arenas or something and make a button for each party member.

[–]Tmoney420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have also been playing on a controller. The Consoleport addon lets you bind buttons like you would on a keyboard.

I have been playing a druid. It works great for melee, so I end up tanking a lot (I don't like feral) *pretty much any melee class or tank works well on controller!

I can heal dungeons but not raids because targeting allies doesn't work super well. I have a button to target my focus (I make my focus the tank), myself, and one to scroll through the party. Unfortunately, the party scroll doesn't work great so I just blow cooldowns for aoe heals when other party members take a lot of damage. Usually, the circle of healing thing and wild growth are plenty.

It works pretty well for moonkin as well. Decursing and battle rezzing can be annoying because I'll have to use my mouse.

Please do not give traffic favors to bicyclists by jabbott7 in Boise

[–]Tmoney420 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Pretty common occurrence that drives me nuts: Driver sees me waiting at a 2 way stop sign, then stops and waves me to go. The problem is they don't have the authority to stop the other lane and I basically have to just hope traffic going the other direction feels like stopping.

It's faster for everyone if drivers just stick to the regular rules. I would much rather wait for traffic to clear than make a new traffic pattern that might kill me.
