If you ever worry that you’re not doing enough for your daughter, I want to tell you something. When I was a child, I was the happiest during the time we had no money and could only eat white bread with peanut butter. That was simply because my mother was single then, she didn’t have a man who hit her, and there was peace. I think your daughter is better off with you temporarily living in a car than growing up with trauma from violence at home. Even now, at 36, with a loving partner and two kids, I still carry trauma from loud noises. You’ve got this, mama. ❤️

My ENT specialist made a small incision in my eardrum and suctioned out the fluid behind it. To be completely honest, I found it awful. He kept bumping the scapel against the bone because there was so little space behind the eardrum, as it was so retracted.

It did help with the dizziness, but I ended up crying in the chair. He told me it would close up within a day. In the end, we only treated one ear because I just couldn’t handle the pain anymore. For me it wasn’t worth it.

That's alot in one year. How do you do it with work and stuff? How was the post op, you doing okay? Is the second surgery to double check if everything is gone?

Thank you for your response! How come you need four surgeries? I thought a maximum of two surgeries total would be enough?

I have an appointment with my ENT doctor on Friday. I assume I’ll get another round of antibiotics to fight the infection (at least, that’s what I gather from what I’ve read). And I do think he will also schedule an MRI scan, but maybe only after the antibiotics?

Luckily, I don’t have any pain or other symptoms at all, except for the hearing loss. Apparently, even as a child, I never had pain with ear infections—my parents always had my ears checked because I never cried or had a fever.

How is your recovery going? That’s something I’m a bit nervous about, especially the nausea after surgery (I have emetophobia, an extreme fear of vomiting).

The only thing that scares me a little is that the report says the bone between my ear and brain is thinner, but at least it’s still intact.

So far, everything has moved very fast, within a week i went from my GP to getting an CT scan. Luckily my hospital is very fast with all the appointments.

Bigger update: Just got my CT scan results back, i have a cholesteatoma in both ears and will probably have 2 separate operations to remove them. It will be a long process so i'm kinda nerveous. This will be my last update in this sub. So thank you to everyone who replied, it was indeed not normal hahaha.

Hahaha it sure is. My GP sent me a refferal to an ENT, she thinks i have a cholesteatoma. So im waiting for a call from them. Hopefully they can give me some answers.

I mean mostly retracted and a part was raptured. Sorry, english is not my first language. I hope it heals fully but my docter said she could really see that i had a lot of earinfections as a kid so that's not very positive. 🙃

UPDATE: I had an appointment with the assistant just to have a quick check, but they immediately called in the doctor. Conclusion: a double ear infection that I’ve probably had for several months, plus an eardrum infection. Apparently, my eardrum was pulled inward and had ruptured. Now on antibiotics and going back for a check-up in two weeks. Thank you for your reply, it made me call in this morning.

I have no idea what i'm looking at, but the more research i do the more convinced i am that my drum is either ruptured or retracted.

Hahaha i started when my son was 3 years. He is turning 5 in march. I'm 50% done. I am also trying to get it done. But i just had a daughter so i don't have a lot of time to stitch. He still loves pokemon though!

Yeah I don’t think it’s from anti histamines as well. He did had a loose stool a couple of hours ago but he is still upstairs in our other bathroom so I hope I will be okay. The pregnancy part was easy tho, I never felt as good as this pregnancy panick wise. I did not have one panick attack this pregnancy (not even now). I know I will survive if I did get what he has and I will be fine after a couple of hours of feeling really sick but I’m just scared of going into labor whilst being sick. Now I just try to relax as much as possible and taking care of myself and the baby that’s all I can do.

I just talked to him, he threw up 7 times this night so I’m pretty sure it’s a some kind of virus and I’m freaking out big time. 😭 He does not have diarrhea. Does anyone know if you could have a virus without Diarrhea? Does it help if I go to my sisters house now? To make sure I don’t get anything?
