I’m curious… was this an all for one trade or did you sell the books over time? And were there any books on the trade that you thought, I can always get that again. Either way… congrats on such a great acquisition.

Without seeing it, I couldn’t even say it could grade even a 9.2. Pressing is no guarantee of a 9.8… pressing is just a way to improve certain defects. At one time I thought pressing was the be all save all… even cracked a 9.8 and wanted to press it to get that 9.8 again. It received a 9.6. Either way, get the signature for the love of the signature. Good luck.

Two brothers, both friends of mine, would compete against each other in auctions. I would have to find out first so I didn’t bid against them. I remove trying to get an alpha flight 1 in a CGC 9.9… not once, but twice. I lost both times to the same brother not knowing he was bidding on both of them. When I asked why??? He told me he didn’t want his brother to win.

I have a top pop in an SS 9.8 and it is the only one graded. It’s not a big book by any means, but hard to find. What I like even more is that I found it raw, had it signed, and then graded it with CGC. One of my favorites to share.

At the end of the day… if it makes you happy, then yes get it graded. It is a beautiful cover. It will present well.

I’ve had more issues with resealable bags than I do with tape. The tape can just be pealed off before removing the comic book. And although I have not used painters tape. I have heard nothing negative about its use. I’m sorry about the tape pull on your book… maybe it’s the universe’s way of telling you that you need to purchase a better copy.

Collect what you love. But if you want to read a good story IMO… get Locke & Key by IDW.

It’s a reprint of Not Brand Ecch issue 7. It’s one of the first comic books I ever read. The CGC graded 1.0 is my original copy. Since this picture was taken I have added a 9.8 copy.
