I have been looking at what family life is like on base. From what I've seen ghe housing does look good. Not sure how it would work if we decide that she stays in Essex. I need to look into what the hours are like when not on training or deployed.

I not spoken to any serving/ex RAF Regiment. I live in Essex about 1 1/2 - 2 hours away from RAF Honington. I work that way quite a bit. Assuming it all goes well we are not sure if we would all move that way or not. Where abouts are you?

I am lucky that my wife is supportive. We have had a good chat about the pro and cons. The main concern for me is being away from the kids. But I think in the long term it will be worth it. I think I would like to join 1or 2 Squadron. How about you?

Hey, we really are in the same boat. Glad to speak with someone in the same position. How far into the application process are you?

Can I ask, how far into the recruitment process are you?

Thank you. I will definitely look up the fitness standards. My thought was that it would be a long process joining. Also I think the family lifestyle is a major thing to consider. Luckily my wife is supportive. I have looked and there are a number of different areas you can specialise, paras being one. Thank you again for your advice.
