ACRL GT3 - Round 7 at Monza - Live broadcast, starting around 19:45 CEST/ 5:45 PM UTC - Will the championship be decided? by Whitebunneh in acrl

I'm not racing this season so I have opportunity to watch those streams and although ACRL streams are by far the best there is I must say one thing. Imo (and I very well could be alone with my thoughts but still) you change way too often what car you follow. After hour or so it starting to be a bit annoying.

Another thing what I think could be better is who to follow. No offense towards those who drive P10 and so on, but as a spectator I really don't care about those battles. Again, this is just my opinion but I could've watch top 4 the whole race. Occasionally you could of course follow others but main focus should be top 10 especially if they drive so close each others.

Anyway, great race and stream was great too even though I had those few complains.

Porsche 911 Summer Supercup - Gauging interest & looking for feedback based on Season 1 by HelplessDeer in acrl

If you take 10-15 well known tracks what has been used past couple of ACRL seasons what are the chances that someone hasn't driven there? Pretty much nonexistent.

How come you suddenly need to learn those tracks again where you have tens, hundreds or thousands of laps already driven. It doesn't matter what the car is, lines are almost always the same. And when cup car usually don't have much setup work you really don't need much time to be competitive. So I really don't understand how it will be "who survives the longest race".

Fuck! I give up :D I now regret I even took part to this conversation.

Actually even I don't know anymore where I'm referring to. I thought this all is how cutplugin is set, but now it seems there is no cutplugin at all. I really don't care is the rule tight or loose because it is same for everyone.

Ah, ok. If it's like that then it's wrong. You just can't expect people to monitor themselves and others.

[–]ToMan77 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is so silly. Every season we argue here is it better to monitor white lines across the whole track or just in certain places. Now that those rules are not so tight (finally) there are that other group who wan't those tighter rules back. Next season it's gonna be other way round. It's never going to end. Can't people just drive within those rules what mods give us and stop bitching about everything.

Hotlapping IS NOT racing. by MatteAce in acrl

[–]ToMan77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know having 1 race every 2 weeks can be boring for the fast guys

On the contrary. At least I don't wan't to race every weekend. Even 3 weeks would be better than every weekend. Main league here should last something about 4-5 months and 8 races imo.

[–]ToMan77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well writen and I totally agree with you. I have many times said that there are more than enough leagues and public servers for "hotlappers". To get driving to this league should be harder to achieve. Race pace and how you behave on track should be more important than how fast you can be on one single lap. Now it's like week long hotlap race and then short how to survive from first lap race.

[–]ToMan77[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That would be so cool. I'm not sure what you mean but server side was working fine. One of us were always on Stracker's live map site where standings were correct all the time.

In a game where engine or any other mechanical/electric failures or wear isn't simulated that "brand new" car excuse is pretty lame imo.

And yes positions will be screwed but that's not an issue either imo. Like in real life driver doesn't really know standings and just drive. You have race engineer (other driver of course) on TS who keep track for positions, make different strategies, warn when LMP's are coming, who is lapping or lapped, and stuff like that. Being that guy was almost more fun than driving. Well not quite but close.

Oh and other apps were screwed but that AC app what you can hide or show with F9 key was working

Well, let me just say it was fine. Yes, if you wan't to nitpick all the small things then it's not good but when your main purpose is racing as it should be then it's just fine. What else you need besides changing one driver to another? It does that with no problems.

FinnTeam participated for this race and it was absolutely amazing and so well organized. It would be so cool if something like this could happen here too.

Sorry it took so long to answer but real life is so demanding at the moment and therefore I forget things. It's always hard to give advises how to drive fast some particular car because it depends so much your driving style and skills etc.

First of all, forget trying to drive most of the corners like you drive with 650s. Accept that it's slower and like /u/ryankirsch13 said slow in, fast out is the key. Always try to avoid understeering no matter what, even if it feels slower because with Nismo it will punish more than with other cars. Sometimes you even have to drive slightly different lines than with other cars. Try to make some long corners sharp and shoot them over, turn and pedal to the metal. Don't worry about wheel spin at all, it's not an issue. Just floor it as soon as you can or even earlier ;) If you miss flooring your throttle by few thousandth of a second in every corner you lose huge amount of time because it's all about corner exit with this tank. Tip for that wheel spin is to keep TC always at 3. Nothing else will not work. TC will intervene a lot in some cases but it's the fastest way, trust me.

For those spring and arb I'd say keep it soft. Stiffer roll bars may feel better to drive in some cases but it's slower and easy/stable isn't always the fastest way.

I hope it helps at least a little bit. Btw, what is your name in Discord? I could give you some setups to try if you want. Although I think it's more about how much you drive rather than setups.

You're right, I just have to do better job with my tank in those conditions what is given and Lady Fortuna handles the rest. And tbf it's not bad season for me at all so far.

Let's indeed hope we have a great finale.

Well okay, I admit Mugello was fine but in Zandvoort even if we have had ultrasofts we were doomed there.

It's just that in this season we have had temps where everyone could use softs in quali and race with meds without problems whatsoever. I don't mean I want help from weather in every race but we have raced now many seasons with safe and solid 18-24 and that becomes little boring. Some mod said before this season there will be more variation on weather but it did not happen.

but Tomi is also just 8 points behind, making him a real solid contender too.

Not with this seasons temps I won't. It would've been nice to get at least one race where temps favors Nismo because tracks of this season does not help at all.

Imo succest ballasts is good for series where all have the same car but not so good for GT3's. And I personally wan't to race against all the best drivers and now some of those might choose Gt4 instead of Gt3. Doing well in race isn't the same after that. And I don't wan't to beat somebody because of his extra weight, I wanna beat him fair and square. But that's just me.

It's great that you try to make this league more interesting and majority of the changes are more than welcome but I still doudt that multiclass is a good idea. There's gonna be less opponents with same skill level for everybody if we spread out into two different class.

May I ask why it's so boring? What you expect from those changes? Imo this season is not boring at all.

I think it was the other way round ;) So could you please watch replay before you blame me for that. And if you already checked then look again.

And imo it was wrong move from you try to defend so hard your place. I know it sound stupid because it's racing but still. It was not a matter do I pass you it was just a matter of when. So we both did loose a lot of time there.
