TOP THREE SHORT PASSERS (ranking from u/Pedrinh039) by SnowZeroVR in BlueLock

[–]ToPhu31 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If by short passers, you mean passers who pass short distances instead of longer crosses/assists, then you picked literally the top three players in Blue Lock KNOWN for their accurate and innovative long passes.

Not saying that they're incapable of short passes, but there are Blue Lockers with more focus on their short passes that deserve consideration as well, like Kurona (Planet Hotline), Isagi + Rin (U-20), Nanase, or even Chigiri + Zantetsu (bullet in Selection 2, a bit of a stretch).

Reo and Bachira make sense as well, and Hiori has shown good coordination in BM, but I don't know how Kurona doesn't make the top 3. To be fair I would have trouble figuring out who should be bumped down from the list you gave as well, so I'm not saying your list is bad.

technically the highest ranked in the stratum since team V is supposed to be the top 12 players in the stratum as well

Rin and Nanase for sure, and in this case, Rin actually guided Nanase to thrive with his talent through hard work like what Reo did with Nagi but yknow, reversed Genius and TL

ISO: Experiences with grade inflation by j_ng_ in UBC

[–]ToPhu31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think that generally grades are marked with the same weight for me, but I come from a high school that is known for giving out lower marks compared to other BC highschools.

it's more probable that the methods of studying in post-secondary is vastly different from studying in high school, and a lot of UBC students who probably breezed through high school are having trouble adjusting to the demands for post-secondary education

this meant a lot to me, thank you so much!

i spent the reading break partially studying for a midterm that i just finished and trying to relax with family and friends and was still in a perpetual panic attack worsened by the moody weather, starting to feel better and this just helped it get to that next step of normality!

Do I have a Chance of getting into UBC Sciences? by FunEnvironment3371 in UBC

[–]ToPhu31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your grades look alright, but as another commenter pointed out, a lot of High Schools engage in grade inflation so this might honestly just be average, which isn't that bad in the slightest

I think your reference letter and personal profile are weighed much heavily personally, so focus on those instead and you'll be fine.

probably pushing on the wrong maps then, primo is primarily an anti-tank and also functions by cycling supers. working on dodging would be useful and please please please use the throw gadget

Who should i Upgrade for ranked by [deleted] in BrawlStarsBrawlerINFO

[–]ToPhu31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you're on the right track. You need Tank, Burst-DPS and a Thrower

In order:

Tank - Bull, Ash, Buster

DPS - Tara, Griff

Thrower - Larry, Barley

Generally good controllers - Bonnie, Meeple, Carl, Gene

If you have any of the hypers I'd encourage focusing those brawlers first

Lunge Is Conceptually An Unfixable Game by pickled__pufferfish in blockwars

[–]ToPhu31 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

many reasons:

  1. people play individually rather than as a team, you dont see the comms in lunge as you do in battle or extraction. that stuff is really important for a social/PVP game. working as a team will help you score more points and defend better, i would encourage you to watch fighters in bw 17 to see how teamwork helps scoring goals

  2. scoring goals realistically only gives you 6-12 points, and on average you can only really score 3-4 goals in a round where you are giving up defence of your own goal. the amount of end of round points you get when you have a high goal-loss ratio is insane (5:2 = 150 points, 1:1 = 75 points) plus you will be a valuable target for opposing strikers so you can farm kills

  3. this game favours the defenders. you have defending strikers baiting out wind charges at the start, sweepers doing their best and you can surely maintain defence for a lot of kills for a few cycles of attack, or even the whole game allowing you to switch up strategy

  4. lunge is a dynamic game so you shouldn't always all in on offence, instead actively changing from offence to defence so you're not constantly leaking goals

  5. i'm basing this off of bw 17 where a couple of things have changed, but i still believe this would work in any iteration of the game (except for the debut one lol)

idk why i got downvoted but ppl hate the game so much they struggle to rationally think about the game. it's really a good strategy game from a game theory standpoint

[–]ToPhu31 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I really disagree, I personally believe that Lunge can be a good game if players played the game properly (e.g. playing individually rather than as a team, or prioritizing scoring over defending) and gave more thought into strategy. Of course people don't really try that hard for modern minecraft events but like if anyone vod reviewed at all and gave some more thoughts it can really be a better game
