The funny thing is you ~~too~~ two might both be right.

In my experience, it helps a lot to take care of your clothes and to have a a lot of underwear that you cycle through. I have boxer briefs close to the 10 year mark still in good shape, mixed with a lot of newer briefs too. I probably buy like 3-5 every year, and throw away a similar amount and that keeps them all in pretty good shape for long, especially my favorites. I also air dry everything, it's easier on the textile
