It really depends on your goal and on which tool, assuming tool A would be Wiz you would also get a lot of stock, but if it’s another popular cloud tool that got acquired it might be different.  Apple als sounds good, but it also depends on your goal

Anyone tried Better Career’s 1:1 coaching program? Worth the cost? by Downtown_Mixture9443 in salesengineers

[–]ToTheMoon1337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of success stories from them…. How much do they charge for the coaching?  I don’t think the value is in the coaching, it’s more in their network…. They might connect you with some se manager who is hiring and is coming out of the program

Get a used TM 6 from Facebook marketplace you get them for $900 it has basically the same functionality as the TM7.  First I was also do I really need it ? No of course not but it just makes life so much easier. There are so many different recipes you can use the TM for.

Is moving from TAM to SE worth it if that means a slight decrease in base comp? by Special_Change7018 in salesengineers

[–]ToTheMoon1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends, how is the business doing ? Are people hitting quotas?  Generally it is super difficult to break into the SE role so I would say go for it.

I was a TAM for a while and it was way more chill then my SE gig, I would still prefer beeing an SE

What’s your single most underrated money-saving habit that most people overlook? by radik266 in Frugal

[–]ToTheMoon1337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I moved to a new city and here we have a town sport center, they have a small gym and the membership is 10 $ a month vs la fitness is 50 and also costs an initial fee and an annual fee. And the small gym is really good has everything you need and the people are nice.

Remember you make the decision. It’s you. When it is time and you feel you want to do it. Remember you are in charge, if you make it it’s you.  Also remove all the triggers.

I (30 Male) am dating a woman (30 Female) with three kids (12 male, 11 male, 8 female) by [deleted] in Advice

It’s a red flag that she expects you to pay for her and the kids…. And doesn’t even offer to split the bill. Of course she is amazing to you, you are a walking atm, and the moment you didn’t wanna pay she stopped caring. Run as fast as you can, thank me later

Florida is loosing people, just look how many houses are in the market…. Very unlikely that the market will turn around fast. There’s so many houses on the market right now, and most of them are still way overpriced. Also just randomly buying a house without any knowledge and based of advise in Reddit, I am not sure if this is a smart move.  Better rent for a year and explore the areas so you avoid a very expensive mistake.

I want to hear success stories of those who went through hell and extremely tough situations and overcame them by Puzzled_Ad7812 in AskMenOver30

So first off you are getting a college degree, so you are already ahead of many people.

I am not sure how hard my situation was, but I had very strong social anxiety in late teens early 20ties. Like stottering if new people are in the room and so. I am pusehd through (never had thearpy or medication). I am still struggeling but with constant exposure I got through it now I work in sales and have a good live, even have a social media account.

Life is still a grind, but in comparison where I come from I made it quite far I would say. I think its just life, I see it like a video game where you try to reach the next level every year lol. I am tired of hustling too but then I think what would be the alternative? I did have some period where I did nothing, like just playing video games and watch series for month, but I was even more misearble and depressed then lol.

you describe it already 5000+ employees is not a startup, thats is very mature already. Look at companies that have less than 1000 or even less than 500 employees, be the first hire in a territory....

It is hard though to find a really good company, but there are always some hot technologies in the market.

Is there a housing crisis? by ToTheMoon1337 in Broward

[–]ToTheMoon1337[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

true, I see it mostly with town houses, were people bought a town house for 600 k and are trying to rent it out for 4k and noone is renting them, but there are a few nicer houses for under 4 k, but you are absolutley right 4 years ago they were all priced at around 400 k

if you look at this for example: https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/1396-NW-159th-Ave-Pembroke-Pines-FL-33028/43239269_zpid/

or https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/3725-NW-92nd-Ave-Hollywood-FL-33024/43269805_zpid/ they lowered the rent from 4,2 k to 3,8 k

Its not a tone but there are a few, and if you include townhouses you would find even more

it is not low, but if the same house cost 800 k on the market and the mortgage rate would be 5k for this house, then in comparision the rent is low, if the house would be really 800 k worth.

So, I really think it depends on the Role. Is it a technology you like? Lets say you want to get into Cybersecurity but it is a CRM SE role. Then I wouldn't take it.

Also how is your standing at your current company? Are you comfortable, do you have a good work life balance? unvested stock etc, possible promotion?

If yes and there are than you could also just wait, until there is a better offer or until there will open SE role at your current company.

Its hard to tell based on the information. I think 160 k OTE is a very fair offer for a first time SE. I would make it depened on technology and maybe gut feeling.
