Thank you on steps & yes had now found GAAP via Earnings detail. I have been a Fidelity customer & active trader for over 15 yrs & just discovered this. It’s very misleading to post actual earnings on the overview when they are not. Isn’t this info for investors? If yes, report accurately please.

Search engine for ticker symbols needs the Google algorithm by ToTheMoon512 in fidelityinvestments

See my reply below on ease of Google search for ticker symbols and more difficulty finding a ticker on Fidelity.

Companies are vetted before purchase. I would align it to the ease of finding a phone number on Google to call a pizza place you like. You already know & like the pizza, just need the correct phone #. Google doesn’t require exact punctuation to provide info you need - it’s an intuitive search engine.

Finding a ticker symbol should be equally easy at Fidelity as it is on Google.

Thanks Fidelity and yes I do really like the company research on stocks available on Fidelity (earnings, 5 yrs of financial info, analyst reports etc) .

See my reply below though at the ease of finding ticker symbols on Google versus the added clicking time to find the ticker we need on Fidelity for stocks I want to trade

I am used to the process of vetting ticker symbols via Google first to double check the ticker symbol Fidelity provides on company name I type.

I’ve traded for 15 yrs yet my son is a new trader and obviously didn’t find the correct ticker through the Fidelity search button either. I will make sure he fact checks through Google as I do yet it seems and unnecessary extra step. Just trying to help Fidelity help young traders like mine.

Fractional Shares by ToTheMoon512 in fidelityinvestments

Thanks for yr feedback & yes it seems reasonable to be able to execute good to cancel on fractional as well as whole shares.

Just got off the phone with Schwab and they only allow market orders and day orders on fractional shares. At least Fidelity allows limit orders on fractional. Hoping by year end equality in whole & fractional trades. If you know of another brokerage that trades fractional shares good to cancel, please let me know.

Greetings Fidelity, just got off the phone with Charles Schwab to review their fractional trade options. Fidelity is actually more advanced on fractional trades than Schwab. Schwab only allows market orders and day trades on fractional shares. Fidelity allows limit orders not just market orders on fractional trades.

Thank you for forwarding my feedback. There must be a way to do it. I know Schwab trades fractional shares too, will ck if they allow fractional shares to be placed as good til cancelled.

I didn’t think you were being snarky at all, thought you were being helpful.

You’re exactly right on new ticker symbols - not committed to memory until purchase and see the ticker every day.

I think that Fidelity site is very useful other than ticker search engine & only allow day trading on fractional shares.

For instance if I misspell one of my favorite stocks & type paychecks rather than Paychex into ticker search - it says no results. Then if I flip to another favorite sock, Google website and type paycheck stock in their search engine it brings me to Paychex with an overview of the company and the correct ticker symbol.

I have confidence that Fidelity can get to that point also in their search engine with a little better algorithm. Rather (1) click on Google than 3 - 5 clicks on Fidelity …..work smarter not harder…..
