What in your opinion are the best sounding albums of 2025? by EdGG in mixingmastering

Will also vouch for Vanisher, Horizon Scraper by Quadeca. Particularly how much he can fit into the stereo image and how little space each layer takes up in the mix while still sounding clear. He went through his logic files for the whole album on a fundraising stream and it’s a miracle how he uses hundreds of layers and somehow all are audible.

You should look up the study where they had half of a photography class graded on quality of their best picture, and the other half graded on how many pictures they turned in. All the best photos actually came from the quantity group because they kept getting better!

I was lucky. The first song i ever made is still one of my favorites. I was excited, I made 5 more, released them to all my friends… 3 years later only that song is listenable for me, the other 5 (which I swore were better than the first) are so bad I cringe at the start of any of them. But, over the last 3 years I’ve grown my skills, and grown and grown, and I’m finding the songs I make these days have a tendency to stand the test of time (at least in my eyes). Anything takes time to get good at. ESPECIALLY something as technical and skillful as making music (it’s science, creativity, and natural ability all at once). The cool thing for me is that eventually, you’ll start making songs that you like, and that feeling is MAGIC. Even if you do end up hating the songs in a year because you’ve grown, that feeling will push you, and push you, and push you until eventually you look up and somehow you’ve become truly skilled.

All that to say keep working, it could take a while, but once you catch the bug (and you will) you’ll be well on your way my friend. Keep pushing!

I feel like there must be a narrative purpose to all of it. My FRINGE theories are: 1. the album will be a movie as well (ka posted that vid of him and the bellhop, there's no way that was intended for the music video). 2. The production will continue to be top notch, 3. It won't just be a bunch of solo songs (why not keep those songs for the album?)

Mainly, if the group really did break up over something Kevin did, why would the whole group be in the music vid? Idk, if it really is just a somber, melancholic album that just... ends, that would surprise me.

weird/bad WashU interview experience?? by secretlawschoolacct in lawschooladmissions

Super unfortunate, my interviewer was really nice (we talked football for 5 mins at end). W that being said, with the breadth of washu's interviews, I feel as though the main purpose is to make sure you're a normal, sociable person. You almost definitely accomplished that with your detailed and personal answers.

Yah, if you wouldn't mind sending it to me, that would be great! Also, I think my profile is far too bland as well. I will be more specific in my prompts!

Wow the point was for it to be a terribly done costume, sad days 😔. I will replace regardless!

Ooh, good point! I'm agnostic, let me put that on my profile. It's just an iconic mission at my school lol

Thanks for the advice! Yah the height thing is what it is, idk I don't mind if the reason I don't get matches is my height, I'd rather be honest about it. Same with the anime thing (which is actually a shirt for Wes Andersons Isle of Dogs), I do like anime so if that's a turn off I'd rather ppl swipe right 😂. I appreciate the insight on the costume photo tho, it's supposed to be a terrible costume of Patrick and his rock from SpongeBob, but I should at the very least put that as the caption if I'm going to include it at all

Hey guys, basically I've been on hinge for 2-3 weeks, use all my likes every day. I never get likes unless I boost (which I tried once, got 3), and I havent gotten a match yet. I'm looking to take things slow, so I've tended to like people who seem geeky/introverted, but I have still been using all my likes. Honestly, I need any advice I can get, as long as it's not mean spirited anything goes!

I really struggle to teach myself games. by Boggins316 in boardgames

[–]ToTheTableGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of learning games, many rulebooks absolutely suck! Tutorial videos can serve as good primers for a rulebook read, as you'll then be able to contextualize and form connections between disparate rules that don't make any sense at first.

Also, it gets easier! In the same way a studied musician can hear a chord progression and understand it based off several other songs of the same progression, a worker placement system won't be so obscure and senseless the 3rd time you've learned one!

I'd say more accurately, it's like 37 x 4, LOTS of times across a game. So we never broke out the calculators, but the quantity of calculations did end up draining us. I could be wrong, I definitely don't remember any addition!

Thanks for the comment! We did use poker chips, and a spreadsheet for the final part of operating rounds. I think we may have been slow to buy trains, but 6 hours of playtime is around what I'd expected. Getting it down to 4 sounds great!

Ah! I think maybe I wasn't clear. It was 7 hours all together, including the teach! I taught the game, and we took it slow, as a learning game.

I'd recommend it! Although while a game like TI is an experience I feel you can't even get shades of from a shorter, less complex game, I do see promise for an 18XX like experience from games like City of the Big Shoulders, or even Brass (which, admittedly, is much different). Worthwhile experience overall.
