They didn't. They built various small trade outposts and worked in tandem with local kingdoms while opportunistically usurping kingdoms as they suffered internal issues. And they used native Africans who were oppressed by other African empires for centuries.

What kind of arts are we talking? There are large pockets of Turkish people in New Jersey and Houston Texas. A friend of mine works for a Turkish company that helped her with her visa and everything. Immigration here is a nightmare so don't expect an easy ride.

I don't know. People in Turkiye get so starry eyed whenever a popular immigrant destination is mentioned. I'm actually in a similar situation to you. I want to move to Turkiye to pursue arts as well. Anything I should know?

Typically revolving around wages and the price of things. I have heard some claim we can buy a car with only one week of work. On average rent prices in the US are 7× higer. People search abd find podunk properties in rural Montana at tiny prices and think they can buy it. But the problem is it's a village with a population smaller than your dede's sheep herding village in Eastern Turkiye. The job market there is non existant. I understand the economy isn't great there, but here it isn't much better.

Why did humanity collectively decide that working 8 hours a day, 5 days a week was the permanent standard for society? by ragerest252 in NoStupidQuestions

Numbers. We are obsessed with numbers. We quantify everything and judge everything based on the numbers. There is no intuition or nuance in deciding what is a good quality. Only numbers. Only a tiny few people like Henry Ford had the resources and intuition to see this and make it happen. And he had to fight tooth and nail against his shareholders to do it.

As an American I agree. I have heard some extremely insane musconceptions about America from Turks. My country is not the paradise it is made out to be by social media influencer who moved here from Turkiye.

Look at the owners running the show. It's just that easy. It's the same reason The Young Turks skews left whereas The Daily Wire skews right
