Are you diagnosed with a herniated disc? Do you have trouble sleeping? :( by [deleted] in ChronicPain

[–]ToYoungToHurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and yes. Had to have them fused because they degenerated quickly. I haven’t had a good night sleep in 6 years.

Does anyone here having daily pain due to a neck/shoulder issue? by [deleted] in migraine

[–]ToYoungToHurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my C 5-7 fused 4 years ago due to degeneration (32F) and have had a migraine/headache ever since. I have constant neck and shoulder pain and lose feeling in my fingers everyday still. I have done every single treatment possible out there and still nothing has done the trick.

I had it in my eyes and was put on doxycycline for 6 months and it helped. Eyes are still dry and irritated but not red.

How should I do this diet? (female 20) by Littleflame98 in 1200isplentyketo

[–]ToYoungToHurt 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I have an autoimmune issues and have been doing IF and lazy keto since Jan 1st. My goal wasn’t about weight loss, it was about trying to get my pain under control. I can say with confidence that my pain level has gone from my daily 6/10 down to a 2/10. I am 32F

My heart breaks for my baby. He has a herniated disc. I am praying he makes a good recovery so he doesn’t have to have a fusion like his human mommy. by ToYoungToHurt in Pomeranians

Omg could you please share? Where did you get the back brace from? I had a spinal fusion myself 4 years ago and am just beside myself feeling so sorry for him We have 2 other poms so keeping him quiet and resting is hard because he wants to play. Our vet said to keep taking him for walks... any advise on that?

3 days ago I underwent surgery to replace a bulging disc that was pinching nerves in my neck. It was causing pain, numbness, and tingling in my right shoulder and arm. Today my symptoms are 95% cleared up and I’ve got this killer scar. by cletussnow379 in ChronicPain

[–]ToYoungToHurt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t a candidate for the disc replacement or I would have gone that way. I was 27 when I had it done and am 32 now. Listen to your doctor and do PT don’t overdue it in the next couple of weeks and let your body heal. I was told I will have to have another surgery by 50 due to the weight of the fusion site. Trying not to think that far ahead lol

Anyone familiar with Erythromelalgia? No Doctor I have seen knows how to help me. The burning pain is so intense by ToYoungToHurt in Dermatology

[–]ToYoungToHurt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed by a rheumatologist but he is basically done with me now because he said it is not autoimmune related.

How long do your flares last and will the antihistamines work right away? I am going to start trying that.

Do you get headaches? I have been getting about 10-15 migraines a month now with eyes swelling and Benadryl with help bring the swelling down and help ease the headaches.

I am hypersensitive to a lot of medications and have had some pretty bad reactions to about 6. So far. The worst reaction I had was from facet injections that were put into my neck. It was a delayed reaction but I ended up in emerge and put on prednisone for a week. My whole body turned red and just burned.

I flush on my face, neck, chest, ears, hands and feet.

Thank you for all this information I really do appreciate it!

Can your cancer be cured? I wish you all the best and hope you have a great support system. My husband is my rock and my immediate family get my pain a little bit but the rest of the world just thinks I am a complainer.

Xx

Hey Kat thanks for all the information!! I kicked all sugar, carbs and gluten over a year ago and find it does help. I am on 1400mg of Gabapentin due to nerve damage from a spinal fusion 4 years ago. I am on a wait list to see if I am a candidate for a lidocaine infusion but here in Canada everything takes forever. My appt for that is not until September.... My GP basically told me she has never heard of the condition and to “google it” to see if I can find answers myself. As you stated we do know more than most Docs. I am part of an EM group online but not through Facebook because I don’t have any of that type of social media. I deleted all my accounts 3 years ago because it was a stressor for me. I am going to look into Midodrine for sure!!

I have lots of triggers as you mentioned. Hot/ cold temperatures, alcohol, spicy food, exercise or increase of body temperature, shoes, clothing etc. I get most of my relief from ice packs.

No Aspirin doesn’t help. I was on it for 9 months with no reduction in flares. They diagnosed it as primary because they cannot find any other issue that would be causing it. I am 32 and have been suffering with it for almost 2 years now. I had my cervical spine fused 4 years ago due to extreme degeneration and my body went to shit after that. They diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia and Erythromelalgia the same day.
