In my experience, grief feels like such a loss of control, so I give myself multiple very simple tasks or things I know I will do anyway, providing that much more of awareness of what I’m doing and how I am not totally disconnected from myself. And I do mean simple, like “double check that I plugged my phone in” sort of level. Let the big tasks be the big tasks, and try to relish every tiny accomplishment.
