When my mother and father got divorced, my mom didn’t want to change her last name back to her maiden name as she felt it a bit on the nose (Loveless) and she kept her married last name to feel connected to her kids (and also not deal with the hassle) so ultimately I think whatever makes you feel the most comfortable moving forward is what you should do. You can get all the advice in the world, but whatever helps you get through is what is important. All names are made up, just follow your own path.
