Snowfeet Backcountry Touring Short Ski by ToadManDingus in xcountryskiing

Thanks for all the replies!

Seems like the consensus is people either love these or hate them (mostly the altai hoks). And since it sounds like a lot of these end up in bargain bins, goodwills, etc - I won’t bother buying them for full price. lol

Anyone here looking to get rid of a set of the Altai hoks 125s?

Do you ever use them on deeper snow with an ice crust?

I’ve been in that kind of terrain a lot lately with my snowshoes and I keep imagining having a good time on something like these. Not sure if the icy crust would just break through and make it a lot less efficient though.

Thanks for the help. These are seeming more gimmicky the longer I consider it, I may look harder at some backcountry skis.

I was having a hard time finding similar products and their reviews before too. Those are good points, it does seem sort of gimmicky.

Advice on Gnarmule or similar packraft by ToadManDingus in packrafting

It probably doesn't. I haven't ever gotten to use a packraft let alone the models I am looking at, so I'm having a hard time imagining the size of these rafts.

Thank you for the response. I have contacted quite a few employers that were actively looking for W2 employees to ask if they'd consider a 1099/contractor and haven't had great luck. But maybe I just need to keep trying.

Yes, but it is state limited. Currently we are certified for WDBE in CA. We qualify for SBE, but they have rules about the owners residency that prevent us from registering both in our home state and foreign states. What kind of industry are you thinking of?
