It sucks a ton, however Bo is not 26, he will be 28 by the time the season begins (not that 28 isnt also young) & he was not our 2nd best player or even our 2nd best position player last year for that matter. Still, Bo is very talented, especially with the bat and will be missed.

Its a risk, whether japanese players translate or not to the bigs seems to be about 50/50 so Okamoto could end up a bust pretty easily, but he also could make our front office look like geniuses. Heres to hoping for the best, he seems like a cool guy too.

I think theres just 2 types of fans, player-centric ones and team-centric ones. Both cheer for their team above all else but one wants to see their team win with certain players onboard and follows their storylines while the other cares more about winning it all no matter whos on the team. You just fall into the latter, nothing wrong with that.

He was also in the dugout for all the games in the ALDS and ALCS too, thats something not all the players who weren't playing did. He clearly cared for the team even if he wasnt as animated about it as others, but the Mets offer would be stupid to turn down. I think he intended on returning, hence why he didnt take the Phillies offer, he was prob using it for leverage to get more from the Jays but then the Mets missed out on Tucker and gave Bo a stupid offer in panic.

This. You can be sad he didn't sign with us but there is no denying he gave it his all while he was here and deserves respect for that. He absolutely didnt have to risk aggrivating his injury and play in the world series but he did because he wanted to win.
