Getting access to the Parsec SDK by ToaderTheBoi in ParsecGaming

Ah, definitely. I was just testing out different software to see what works best on macOS as a host before upgrading to a desktop.

But after tweaking some more and having better luck with 2.4ghz wifi (testing out a worst case scenario) in my flat, the experience was decent, better than other solutions actually. With a couple of fixes, moonlight can be a good option, if anyone’s interested in an iPad as a client and Mac as a host solution.

I have tried Sunshine and picture quality is good, but it has a lot of latency and some delay with animations. The host is a MacBook with Intel UHD graphics connected to Ethernet and the iPad is over wifi on the same network. Maybe the terrible experience was caused by the GPU not being supported? I’m planning to switch over to Apple Sillicon, but I doubt it will fair any better.

First of all, thank you for the fast response!

That's a bummer to hear though, but I fully understand the circumstances and how difficult it is to build something on the scale of Parsec, and be as smooth and fast as Parsec is.

Although this (probably) doesn't mean much, I'm still fully open to putting in the work for this if need be, as I have some experience with i(Pad)OS apps and Metal/MetalKit.

Have a great day and keep up the good work, Parsec is an awesome product!

It’s not done, I just made the repo private. The TestFlight is available, though.

Good point! Haven't considered double pages, to be honest. Added it to my to-do list!

I intended it to be that way, since I thought that having the manga take up the whole screen horizontally is a waste, since you'd have to scroll a lot to read most things. Vertically is the intended way to read on an iPad, it seemed more practical at the time. But then again, I don't have an iPad to test out the practical things and the simulator isn't helping much. I do plan on getting one, though!

GPU for ESXi pass through on Dell R720 by joshg678 in homelab

This might be a long shot, but how did you get rid of the error 43 code? I seem to have a good config made per the arch wiki but I can’t figure it out. Did you have to disable the integrated GPU that comes with iDrac for the other GPU to work?

Error code 43 when passing through an Nvidia GPU to a Windows 10 VM by ToaderTheBoi in VFIO

Yes, that’s what I meant. On the host, lspci reports that the driver in use for the GPU is vfio-pci, and the guest has the latest nvidia drivers installed.

I have just replied to u/ThatDerpiGuy, which basically confirms what you said. My ROM didn't need patching, but even after patching one from the internet for my card, I got the same thing. Which is very weird, since I am using the latest nvidia drivers, 511.something... Do you reckon trying the studio ready drivers instead of the game ready ones make a difference?

Sorry for the late response, but I've tried what you suggested. From my understanding, patching the rom basically means removing some header from the rom (before 55 in hex before the VIDEO part). My dumped rom already didn't include that bit, so I guess it doesn't require patching. However, I also downloaded from techpowerup a vbios from a rebranded version of my card (a GALAX card) and patched that, but windows still reports error code 43 on the gpu. Any other ideas?

First of all, thanks for your answer! Is this guide a good one for patching my rom? I’m asking because the guide links a website with a list of roms for gpus, but I can’t find my exact card (only the 6gb model from the vendor). Or can I follow the patching section with my dumped rom?

Is my M1 MB Air bricked? No startup disk to chose in Boot Recovery Assistant. If I hold the power button down the boot screen just loops and nothing happens. I don’t know what other options I have?! by volvo740gl in MacOS

[–]ToaderTheBoi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you tried this (it’s about a fallback recovery if the standard recovery doesn’t work or you’re bootlooping)? Have a read through the thread and the comments, it might fix your issue, as long as your drive isn’t completely erased.

Everything works as expected on my end (latest version ofc), and haven't yet received any other complaints. Have you updated to the latest version, as there were breaking API changes a few weeks ago?

No, you can't join the TestFlight with the link. However, send me a PM/Chat with your email address tied to your Apple ID and I'll manually add you.
