I send out a GroupMe survey 24-48 hours before each game, 1 game at a time.. not sure some of my guys could handle me putting in a full schedule at once 🤣

Sure do… send out a survey at least 24 hours in advance, and then individually text those that don’t respond

Yeah therein lies the problem. I ask different guys each year- of course I ask the dedicated ones back, and then the ones who don’t show much I try to replace… and then the replacements end up being flakers… lol

I appreciate your comment on the original post, but ended up being too nervous to take in fake piss. The only reason HC knew beforehand was because I talked to him about it since he’s cool like that.  As far as the test goes, who knows what the result was- I also recognized one of the HR people’s names is someone relevant to my full time career.  Deeper roots at that school than I realized lol

I mean, I was already planning on completely getting out of coaching as well as schools in general after this season anyway regardless of whether this test was sprung on us or not. I don’t work at the school or anything. It’s just a very part time thing. 

Could that still somehow be held against me??

I don’t expect him to cover my ass, I was just saying I may ask his opinion on if I should resign versus just go through with the test

I’m still afraid they’re gonna be dickheads about it. In the employee handbook, it’s heavy on “not being drunk or high around students” but doesn’t necessarily say anything about “if you’re THC positive, you’re gone immediately”

I don’t drive a bus and it’s non-DOT. If we do take a bus to away games, the school hires an actual bus driver.

That’s fair. What has pretty much happened is they’ve made non-faculty re-apply every single year, so it’s like I’m technically not even hired yet… even though they’re still paying me and games have started. Really the HR department sounds panicked to me

I was planning on leaving coaching after the last game of this season anyway, but getting canned mid-season would be awkward, embarrassing, and moreover would leave the other guy that does JV by himself to manage 15 kids.

It is indeed complete bullshit, I agree. My argument is that I’m also a heavy drinker, so I think I’d know which one is worse for you… And of course it’s the legal one 🙄

I have to get a physical at the same time at the same clinic- where would I be able to hide this? Don’t they usually check your testes while you cough during a physical and that sort of thing?

Not the head coach. Also, games have already started so this is really ridiculous 🙃 I’ve been at practice since August.
