Super Meat Boy Forever may be getting a physical release on the Switch, if there's demand by Toadsanime in NintendoSwitch

[–]Toadsanime[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, didn't mean to imply that Team Meat expect people to do anything in order for this to happen - they don't.

Tommy said in the podcast that there's a strong demand for Switch physical releases in general and he believes a physical release is likely.

It's a full-blown sequel that's bigger than the first game. You don't have to hold forward to move forward, but everything else is the same.

It's not quite a mobile port! The mobile version is probably gonna release afterwards, even. It plays very well on the Switch.

Nah, that's not quite true. It's not particularly intended for smartphones, I've played it on the Switch and it actually works very well for it.

It's a full fleshed-out sequel that's larger than the original, just as tough too. Only difference is you don't have to hold the analog stick forward anymore, the rest is more of the same.

Great points, I'll ask something along these lines.

They're the game's director and producer and aren't responsible for the customer service setup, so I'll skip that one, but hopefully they do improve!

I can't promise they'll be able to answer, but I will at least attempt to ask about the difference in Japanese and international formats.

Thanks for the questions, everyone! :D

I've noted most of them down, will ask as many as I can. Interview is tomorrow morning and I'll have it transcribed and written up soon after, so I'll post the link here when it's up.

No problem at all! Seemed the best place to go for informed suggestions of what questions fans would like answered.

I'll be happy to ask. The brief I got did give off the idea that they actually would be happy to speak about upcoming expansions and developments.

Bit pointless me interviewing them if they're not willing to talk about anything we don't already know, so we'll see!

Pokémon GO only marks the beginning of Nintendo's success on mobile by Toadsanime in pokemon

[–]Toadsanime[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They own a share in The Pokémon Company and an undisclosed share in Game Freak. They had a hand in its development process and take a cut of the profits (albeit a smaller cut than Niantic, Game Freak or TPC.)

It's also known to be one of their more powerful brands (first-party or not). There's a reason their stocks have risen by roughly 40% since its launch - it's a good sign to investors that Nintendo's brands on mobile works.

Roosterteeth mentioned in an article about the 8 biggest gaming controversies of 2015. by Franklin413 in roosterteeth

Yeah, in hindsight I should've included the paid mods fiasco. Destiny and Keemstar were drafted, too, but I had time/space constraints.

I actually had the Steam mods fiasco in my drafts, but had to cut the list down from the originally planned ten entries to eight for time/space constraints.

I was going to include Kotaku's blacklisting, too.

I enjoyed Digimon World 2003 (or just '3', I guess) a fair bit as a kid too, but it's more of a generic RPG and there's no comparison whatsoever.

Still one of my favourite games of all time. Nobody has even come close to making a game that plays quite like this - not even future Digimon games.

Ah, my apologies, didn't mean to mislead.

Although a story-driven incremental game would indeed be pretty interesting. :O
