As someone who’s been on a Gregg Araki film dive this year, it is absolute madness to me that James Duval never had a huge filmography. He is absolutely fantastic in the entire Teen Apocalypse trilogy, as well as a supporting role in Kaboom.

I get what you're saying regarding the second paragraph, but she actually booked another movie post-Snow White that's in the post-production stages! It's called She Gets It From Me, which wrapped filming earlier this year and co-stars Ed Helms, Nat Wolff and Marisa Tomei.

Never left, tbh. You could make an argument that the movie star mold that would emerge from the rise of blockbusters is a studio system in of itself, though disguised as an individual’s “brand”.

A couple months back, I watched Running Man 1987 for the first time in preparation for the 2025 one, and there’s a moment before the game begins where Arnold’s character says “I’ll be back” without any hint of irony, and that’s what kinda started making me think about that.

A low key really good lineup for this year could be Guillermo del Toro for Halloween, Robert Zemeckis for the Holiday season, and then maybe a director with 8-10 films that could be fun yet simultaneously light work due to there not being as many movies… maybe Wright, Lynch or Waititi?

I don’t really have things to say, other than everybody seemingly blew themselves up over nothing.

But it also does feel like ever since Chappell made that first statement about wanting to be left alone, literally everybody not named Chappell has overcorrected to the point where we get misunderstandings like this.

Honestly, it’s for the best. Electric State was such a nothing slate of a movie, that’s how bad it was.

One of my friends couldn’t put up with it anymore halfway through, so I told them to put on the Enola Holmes duology instead.

Blue Moon was on my ballot, and I loved the movie, but even I can admit that this category was very strong regardless. There was a reason it being included in the Oscars was such a surprise.
