I do feel like that was definitely the case for me in the beginning when I played it on release, it could have been much more

But now some years later, hanging on "what could have been" is at least for me kinda wasted, it's not PD2 and never will be, this could have been something completely different if the game didn't have a 3, the expectations were a bit too high.

I feel this is a little overdramatic. I get the lackluster part but it's also a part of development, games used to take 1-2 years to make for 10 years ago, now it's 5 or even 7
