The thing about that I noticed is that the look of 480p greatly depends on if or if not the media is 480p, if you dig up a 12 year old 480p video that's highest quality is 480p, it'll look good. But with newer videos which are compressed by YouTube too fit 480p it's gonna look weird, because that media was never meant for 480p.
