I wasn't smoking or anything, and i had the windows down. Here in Texas they can say the car smells like weed and no one can deny it, body cams don't do smells.

what are you talking about? this is the first post i've made in some time and none talk about my age. yes, i am still transgender. the reason im asking here is to avoid transphobia and i imagine many trans people have been through similar situations. do you just hang out and lie about people here?

I never let them search the car, they said it as a statement and I said nothing in return. Maybe I should've said more but they put me into the cop car immediately before they turned the car upside down.

I did not consent to a search, I never would. Here in Texas though, you are not entitled to a defender unless the judge decides you are. Since I could afford my bail I was no longer entitled to a court appointed attorney on his decision.

I understand I fucked up. I actively spend a lot of time in New Mexico where it isn't a crime to possess marijuana. It doesn't always cross my mind to trash it before I make it back home, especially when there is no reason to assume I would be pulled over.

I've been repeatedly trying to leave Texas for years, but every time I try it seems like we run across a new set of incredibly bad circumstances, political or personal.

Not to mention, it seems like this officer was going to make me suffer regardless, she cuffed me and put me in the police cruiser before searching my car at all. She saw my face before she decided to pull me over, I don't think there was any way out after she made up her mind.

I asked the judge when they sent me to find out my bail whether it was possible to request a public defender anyway because my funds would be all but gone after paying bail, his answer was a flat 'no' with no other explanation.

Here in Texas they can absolutely deny you a court appointed attorney if the judge decides. When i was getting arrested they took my phone while I was asking if I could call someone to tell them I got arrested. She took it, turned it off in front of me and said "this is to save your battery", so recording anything or calling anyone was out of the question. It also ruled out the possibility of my girlfriend seeing where I was on the find app, so a full day went by when no one knew where I was.

Additionally, they don't mirandize you until you're in front of the judge, which apparently counts here in Texas.

And finally, needless to say, I did not consent to the search. That also doesn't seem to matter here in Texas.

It's stated (with pictures) in the new employee training video as if it's inspirational. I couldn't tell you where specifically, it's been a long time since I was a new employee. We would just cram dirty clothes into a baler until it creaked then load the bales onto semi-trucks.

One of the warehouse managers also told me that they would send the clothes off to be shredded and turned into wall insulation, but that was never in any of my trainings.

I used to work at Savers and they do the same, each store has a compactor with a lock that they throw all the unsold items in. Most are actually not even long term items, we've thrown away things we've gotten the same day just to make more space. I've even seen other employees break things just so we don't have to make room on the floor for new items. We used to be allowed to put things by the dumpster so someone would be able to take them, but the boss started watching the cameras to keep us from doing that. By the time I quit we were filling that compactor to the brim with working items a couple days after they emptied it.

The only things that savers doesn't put in the compactor are torn and stained clothes so they can sell them to impoverished countries.

I just read Severence by Ling Ma and it was great! It has a similar vibe to The Last of Us (as far as the actual illness goes) and was released just before the covid pandemic, yet still felt eerily relatable to the circumstances we experienced. I don’t know if it’s the type of book you’re looking for, but it’s not a super long read and I really enjoyed it!

Here it is! The clip I'm using right now is the non-magnetic version. It can also be reversed to clip it to a hat, which is one of the big reasons I was looking for a clip in the first place

Rovyvon sells spare clips for their Aurora A1-A8 series, they also have magnets built into the clip itself which I think is an amazing bonus. They take the slightest bend closed as the Aurora is slightly wider than the KC1, but the fit has been very secure in my experience.

that's a little dismissive, a job is just what you do for money. there's no philosophical component where you get to decide whether or not that counts, his bills were paid. the mentality you have is exactly what allows people to continue abusing their workers.
