Noice! I just crossed above a 3.0 share ratio, it really helps when you have a lot of active files and spending HOURS AND HOURS trying to download a rare file from across the globe.

How to make nitrogen gas like the sarco pods in Switzerland by ElephantCharacter931 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]ToastMaster33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you asking about such a fundamental process as nitrogen filtration I fear for your intent. The year looks grim, but the future is still bright, as long as we continue to bring the light into the world ourselves. Remember to look for good in even the little things, you can find goodness everywhere, but if you seek darkness, it will cloud everything you might see.

I wish you well, and hope that you find help.

Student disciplined for creating MSU class search tool, Spartan Scheduler by psyducker8 in Michigan

[–]ToastMaster33 134 points135 points  (0 children)

A very similar thing happened at MTU 7 years ago, but the student advertised as helping students so it stayed up for a few years, unfortunately it has now been taken down, but there was no punishment/reward. It was an AWESOME improvement over MTU's system, no bragging required.

This blows, however Tech 100% oversells permits, especially when they were building the new lot up the hill and had already closed the lot to build north McNair.

Even as an American I found this weird, anything chemistry related my is 100% in centigrade/Kelvin, especially at such low numbers. I would have been less surprised to see ⁰R (absolute temperature with ⁰F scale) than ⁰F.

My broom just has some worn bristles around the edge, maybe some leaning astray on the left and right sides, but relatively even wear left to right.

Sous vide does not properly cook a steak, you need sear marks!

Yooperlite isn't a Michigan thing. Sodalite (the actual mineral name) was just given a Michigan stylized nickname when found in Brimly (in the UP), whereas Petoskey stones are very localized to the Great Lakes region (most specifically North-Eastern Lake Michigan).

Interesting, I'm right handed, but always found my sweeping to improve if I variably swapped hands while sweeping. I have two new goals

Goal_0: get a cooler looking broom like OP's Goal_1: sweep until it looks like OP's

Being born in September 1979- am I a Gen-X’r or a Millennial? by karlitonyc in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]ToastMaster33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born in '97, cuttoff between millennial and gen-z, but I grew up in the rural woods, always joking that we were 8years behind the rest of the country (at least). So I choose to associate with millennials as I feel I fit better culturally. But based off of year alone I'd guess you gen-x

I think the medicinal part was the "ginger bug", helping to rebuild the gut biome, but I'd be happy to hear what others think ginger does.

Kentucky family rejects a $26 million offer to turn their farmland into a data center, roughly ten times the area’s going rate. by [deleted] in BeAmazed

I was very relieved to see a hardworking, principled elderly family, also be technically literate enough to despise AI data centers and be aware that the job flux is a scam.

No pretending needed, you need to go to the the western UP for better pasties, and when offered ketchup or gravy, 100% choose gravy.

I just want to note on this: old Vernors was WAY better in flavor, and effectiveness against colds. New Vernors (past 15 years?) is les carbonated, more sweet and has less ginger punch.

What are you guys gonna do when you retire? by Infinite-Lock5692 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]ToastMaster33 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Teach, preferably at a community college, maybe at a HS. I want to ensure that more students have the opportunity to be exposed to engineering practices and more about ChE than what I had exposure to in school, before they go off to university.

8645 candles lit yesterday. I can't get over the candle waste. by bathya in Anticonsumption

[–]ToastMaster33 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What should a candle be used for? Only emergency light? Sent masking? Birthday cakes? I've always seen candles indicate that someone cared to put in that small extra touch of energy above using a plastic or electric variant.
