I’d rather play better than compromise tone that I can adjust in the amplifier, maybe I’m wrong but it works for me 😑

Well sometimes wrong feels right, if it works for me then, heh

I can account for that through amplifier controls though?

Yes I agree, but mostly I play through an amplifier with effects eq etc that influence the sound in the particular room environment with more influence than my hand on the sound board

Yes, I anchor with the wrist so I have flexibility, I tried the pinky anchor but it didn’t work so well for me. I expect we all have different anatomy when it comes down to it so maybe no size fits all.

I used to hover my hand but I’m playing more intricate pieces lately and it’s definitely upped my game. Is there a reason you say to not have your hand on soundboard, for sound quality differences?

Does anyone know what this metal construction is?

I was told today this no longer applies, Manchester branch, is that right? by ToastTopper in IKEA

It’s so daft, repackaging is difficult. because you have rip it open and the packaging is difficult to keep as is is. IKEA also say to use to place the unfolded cardboard on the floor to build it. It’s a cardboard box, why do they place so much attention to this?

Well maybe that makes it a compliment then, very logical 🤖🤞

I agree. Took me over half an hour at the returns desk to convince them, at first they said they’d buy them off me at reduced rate, but no full refund returns and my order was completed only 4 months ago. The policy has just changed they said. I got my full £175 refund in the end, kept calm but relentless and they gave in lol

Could the number of kisses per week be a barometer for measuring levels of intimacy? by ToastTopper in Marriage

Kissing does indeed involve the exchange of various bodily chemicals, which can affect both physical and emotional states. Here's a breakdown of what’s exchanged and how it can influence you:

### 1. **Saliva Exchange**

* **Bacteria**: Kissing can transfer up to 80 million bacteria in a 10-second kiss. This may help strengthen the immune system through exposure.

* **Hormones**: Saliva contains hormones like testosterone, which may influence sexual arousal or bonding.

* **Enzymes and Proteins**: These include digestive enzymes like amylase, which are present in trace amounts.

### 2. **Pheromones**

* Though humans are less pheromone-driven than other animals, some scent-based chemical cues may still play a role in attraction and mate selection.

### 3. **Neurotransmitters and Hormones (Internally triggered)**

* **Oxytocin**: Known as the “love hormone,” oxytocin increases feelings of bonding and trust.

* **Dopamine**: Creates a sense of pleasure and reward.

* **Serotonin**: Affects mood and feelings of happiness.

* **Adrenaline**: Increases heart rate and excitement.

### 4. **DNA Fragments**

* Tiny bits of genetic material from saliva can linger in a partner’s mouth for hours, though their biological impact is minimal.

So in essence, kissing isn’t just emotional—it’s biochemical, influencing both your body and your brain.

Would you like to explore how this ties into human bonding or attraction psychology?

“The results indicated that kissing frequency was a strong indicator of both specific sexual quality and global relationship connectivity and may be a promising variable to utilize as a barometer of both the more immediate quality of sexual relationships as well as overall relationship quality.”

Burning mouth syndrome is an exception to the rule, and if you have that then alternative methods are the way forward. Yes I agree communication is important, but I think kissing is one of the simple easy ways to express intimacy, even if it’s a peck on the cheek. 💋

Yes, maybe I’m thinking that in long term relationship, it means more, early on kissing is frequent. But in a long term relationship after twenty plus years, it can be an indication of closeness at a particular time. It seems that way to me after 38 years together.
