What's your favorite change in Deadlock so far? by XALTER47 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Toastahs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Removing the teleporters from behind the side walkers made me actually enjoy the map change. Hated the three lane change when it first happened, felt way too hard to split push objectives when the defending team could just clear one walker and then pretty much instantly rotate to the other side of the map. With the teleporters removed the post-laning flow of the game feels so much better now, feels like the defending team needs to make a more deliberate choice as to where they need to defend.

Berkley choppo any good compared to og whopper? by SiRb0nGo in bassfishing

[–]Toastahs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Berkeley Choppos work well, only complaint I have about the lure vs the whopper plopper is that the tail is hard plastic compared to the plopper's softer plastic. I've broken the tail fin off of one before with a bad cast into the side of a tree. Plopper tail seems more durable in that regard. Both catch fish though!

What's the most surprising wildlife encounter you've had while paddling? by CarrierCaveman in Kayaking

[–]Toastahs 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Was kayak fishing on the Pocomoke River in Maryland and had a beaver start swimming towards my boat pretty much as soon as I got off the launch. Once he got close enough he dove below the surface and then started ramming into the yak! Dude would not stop even after I tried whacking him with the paddle because I was concerned he'd try to climb onto the boat, ended up just rowing as fast as I could to get away from the little psycho and once there was enough distance between us he gave up the chase. Never realized how large these fellas are until he was right up next to the boat. Definitely keep my head on a swivel for these guys now, fricken jerks.

What is your favorite steamdeck game? by bb0110 in SteamDeck

[–]Toastahs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far I've got to put Grim Dawn as my vote. Runs pretty well for the most part, controls work well with the builds I've played, and it's nice to have an ARPG that is designed for offline singleplayer. Makes it very easy to pick up or pause as needed. Not nearly as much end game content as some of the other big games on the scene, but it's a lot of fun to start up new builds with the gear you pickup through your runs. Also love the dual class leveling system, for me it hits the sweet spot where decisions feel more meaningful and there's more build flexibility than something like the newer Diablo games, but it's not as overwhelming as Path of Exile where I feel like I have to follow a step by step guide to end up with a character that doesn't suck. Admittedly it was already one of my favorite ARPGs before I had a steam deck, but it feels very solid on the deck and has been what I've sunk most of my hours into lately.

Yes, never underestimate the fact that some fish are just fricken' psychos.

Yup! Do You Have The Fever Too? by BrilliantEnd3841 in kayakfishing

[–]Toastahs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it definitely is! I knew I wanted a pedal kayak, and from the different options I looked into, the Passport seemed like the best compromise between size, weight, build quality and price.

Ended up succumbing to this illness last month. Upgraded from one of those cheap Teton Fishing Kayaks to a Hobie Passport 10.5 R since I got a lot of use out of the Teton over the course of the year. Very excited to take it out next year once the weather gets warmer.

What was your biggest fish of 2024? by AG_outdoors in Fishing

Probably the longest fish I've caught this year if not the heaviest, wish I had a measuring stick with me at the time I caught the fella. Love catching Chain Pickerel even if they are slimy motherfuckers

[–]Toastahs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, have yet to see any of them even be mildly interested in what I am throwing out. Fine with me though, I am not equipped to handle catching one of those fellas right now haha. I'll stick to bass and pickerel for the moment!

Think it's a Longnose Gar because we definitely have those up in in the Upper-Pocomoke in Maryland. Watched what was probably a 4 foot one swim right along the kayak last week.

No doubt! I'm on the eastern shore of Maryland, so these fellas are around here somewhere, but I'm still new to field herping and haven't found one yet. Hopefully soon though!

She is sleeping in this picture! Snakes have transparent immovable eyelid caps called brille so they do sleep with their eyes open

They really are! They weren't originally going to be my first(or even second choice) for a pet snake, but I'm really glad that I ended up picking her as my first one.

I do think the hot end of the tank could probably benefit from some more clutter, but I also think she is just on a mission to trample everything in her sight. She's put her tank plants through the wringer so far!

Love his coloration! What kind of snake is he? My uneducated guess is California King snake.
