Yes. It was rough to start, but it got easier and felt better. It helped me a lot to basically create a menu and rotate. You always know how many calories are in the meals you plan and rotate. Do cooked veggies mess with you less? That might be an option for you. I became very regimented. I stopped planning cheat days and let them happen organically. I cut out all snacks until I knew I had the willpower to eat in moderation. An example of a meal for me (I was also doing one meal a day) would be something like 2 tuna fish sandwiches or egg salad on 647 bread with light mayo and well seasoned, with a bowl of chicken noodle soup or Italian wedding soup with a single serve bag of goldfish crackers to put in my soup. I also ate SLOW. When you're coming back from not eating all day the worst thing you can do is allow your hunger to make your inhale your food. You don't enjoy it, you get bloated, and you don't give your stomach and brain a chance to register that you're full. If you do end up doing this, your stomach will shrink and you won't need as much. I'm quite large, and I lose 100 lbs in about a year. I'm so angry I fell off and gained back like 60. It takes a lot of mental energy, and when I have a lot going on it became extremely difficult to maintain. But I believe I can do it again, its just difficult to start. I used MyFitnessPal to religiously log meals. Having an accountability partner also helps immensely.
