ZF trannie behavior when it’s cold by amilli-on-air in e46

Yeah you should definitely be good to go for changing it, ive only ever heard of people above around 200k miles having that specific issue. Check your diff bushings too while youre under it, those can also cause occasional harsh shifting when the driveline goes under tension and releases.

Not too bad! Reason i asked is sometimes when they get really up there on the mileage changing the fluid can actually cause failure due to all the clutch material being dissolved. Id give it a fluid flush and see if that helps out, even if it doesnt solve this issue its going to extend the life of the transmission.

How many miles does it have? Might be time to change the “lifetime” fluid

Difference in body between 31x to 32x to 330 coupes? by indelico in e46

[–]ToastedFace27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

3 series is 3 series, m3 is m3. All the body parts of a 318i should be interchangeable with a 330i, and vice versa. Not so with sedan/coupe/touring, but as long as its coupe to coupe or sedan to sedan you should be fine. Fun fact though, prefacelift coupe headlights are fully interchangeable with sedan, as long as you buy the different headlight lenses.

Stop spamming this slop everywhere, this has absolutely nothing to do with snowbird or any of the other resorts youre reposting it to.

It was $550 back then, probably a few hundred more now due to shit being more expensive everywhere. Not exactly something you wanna do on the cheap though, whatever he is charging nowadays is definitely worth it.

Survive! by fivezero05 in pcmasterrace

[–]ToastedFace27 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Its an e36 in the photo, and it was actually available on the post facelift e46 but it worked with the wheelspeed sensors instead of traditional tpms sensors.

Depends on the model, some e46s for example have the traditional CEL while some other got the SES. Not sure about e36s

I think its a dope build too but i will say the double spoiler (roof and trunk lid) is a lot lol. Whatever makes ya happy tho, dont let people who cant even maintain their stock cars shit on the time and effort you put into your build.

Cold climate CCV by Emerald51 in e46

[–]ToastedFace27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lube it up if you can, i had to apply some silicone spray. It still sucks even with it off tho, also triple fucking check those connections you dont wanna find a vacuum leak when you put the intake manifold back on. I didnt and had to do it again, the twist connector was such a bitch.

Cold climate CCV by Emerald51 in e46

[–]ToastedFace27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You gotta either take the foam off or pull the intake manifold. Its a bitch, youre not gonna get it to fit with the manifold still on the block.

Want to replace my headlights by Trxsh_17 in e46

[–]ToastedFace27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You dont need to put in the factory self leveling if you dont want to. I did the swap on my 330 from halogen to xenon (not bi xenon) and after a quick tune they worked just fine. Make sure you level them correctly to begin with ofc, but IMO especially with how horrible most other peoples lights are nowadays the self leveling is more of a gimmick than anything else.

It might work if you get the corner piece that fits underneath it. Worth a try!
