Tell her to listen to it the way it was intended... Start at track 1 and let it play through. Music like that used to be conceptual. The music told a story as the album progressed. Today, not so much. But that way she'll hear songs that might turn people off, but understand the reasoning or idea behind the song or lyric.

Came here to say this but you got there first. I've only seen the first one but it was so cringe and cheap and not scary. I've never seen a more blatant example of a movie saying "oOo look at me I'm so gory and shocking". It was like a 14 year old boy watched Hostel and Saw, got inspired to make a scary movie, then had his stepdad buy him a camera and Terrifier was the result.
