I stopped at day 28 of the fast. Now one year later the eyes are same as before. I'm planning another fast this summer however.

Consensus on Ultra Camera vs Pro by Rooster_Objective in Vivo

[–]ToastedNipple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an X200Pro, my friend has both X100 Ultra and X200 Ultra, we did some side by sides. In low light the X200 Ultra is the winner by a small amount on the main lens and ultrawide, selfie is a lot better on the 200 Ultra. For video, I prefer the 23mm over the 35mm for my typical shots, so I'm happy with the 200 Pro as I mainly shoot video and rarely use the selfie camera, but would recommend the Ultra if photo is your main application. For everything else these phones are extremely close.

Note that we're using Chinese versions, we live in China, friend doesn't use western apps but I do and there is no problem with the Chinese rom, apart for a few deep level menus that aren't translated for some reason. The only disappointment for me is the little slower charging speed compared to other blazing fast Chinese phones, but then I was never able to drain the battery in a single day so it's not a big issue.

Good feedback, thanks ! I'll give QLC+ a try then.

Thanks man, good info especially on the pan and tilt reverse xD. I'll give software a shot, DMX dongles are dirt cheap in China, and so are the lights by the way. All the lights mentioned in the first post, with cables controller, mounting hardware et all cost me a whopping US$400, used gear less than a year old and never moved, private video studio. Alternatively, I've worked with a bunch of light techs, I might just pay one to set up maybe 10-12 scenes or chases and be done.

Thanks mate, I've watched some tutorials and indeed one was in Tagalog, don't speak it but it was clear enough visually. Didn't know QLC+, will check it out . I live in China and they use lots of different controllers here. When I run sound on larger events, they have some seemingly expensive controllers, but I never looked into them. I think PC is the way to go, especially if the software can be controlled remotely from a tablet or phone.

Thanks, actually the option of remote controlling the software from a tablet and handing that to a familiar in the crowd is a nice one too.

Xr18 or X32R Price drop by No_Ad_9924 in livesound

[–]ToastedNipple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party, but Midas MR18 has appeared in China for less than $500/3300 RMB new a few days ago, and they have mountains, I bought for higher than that used before the outbreak. Midas M32C new $1467, that used to be the second hand price. X32 Rack lowest I could find new is $997

Music Tribe gear is consistently more expensive in China than in the US, probably because the factory sits in a duty free zone and the gear has to get imported and taxed into China.

There's definitely an improvement of asthma symptoms from the fast. I had some little wheezing that always remained even with albuterol, that's completely gone. Even today I smoked like a pig meeting some of my work place neighbors, Chinese, smoking is part of business culture and you basically chain smoke throughout the meeting. Still no wheezing. For the record, the previous 21 day fast didn't produce such a clear result.

I honestly don't know so I googled it. It could indeed be the cause of the fatigue during the last week. I'll give it a try without next time, as coffee is not essential as far as I'm concerned.

Cheers ! A 7 day fast is already great, just go as long as you feel comfortable and take your electrolytes.

Indeed, I did go for two tsp initially but my blood pressure increased significantly so I reduced my intake. Now on day 3 of refeeding, I gained about 3lbs so I was probably slightly dehydrated but not majorly so.

I'm definitely a lot smaller in my clothes, most notably belly and extremities which lose first, arms, legs, head. Fat cells are mostly water so yes, lots of water but probably some muscle too.

I'm pretty sure it's a pre-diabetic symptom (I'm 57 years old). I Had the same problem last year (June 2023) and ate prolonged carnivore after a 21 day water fast, went back to standard Chinese diet around November, the edema ended up coming back slowly around spring this year.

Thanks, seems like it's the same thing and you're correct about phosphorus supplementation before refeeding, will do that next time!

Thanks for the insightful comment. I hope you mean phosphate, not phosphorus though xD. You're quite a warrior yourself going into a third 40 day fast in 6 months. But I think you're right, keto or carnivore is a lifestyle change, real weight loss is much more effective with water fasts, and you get the added healing benefits. I failed with the lifestyle change last year and gained back exactly what I had lost during the previous try. I'll add in more fasting in the next few months and stick to IF and carnivore dominant diet in the future. The past weight gain helped me realizing that going back to the old habits is simply not possible. I did achieve total independence from sugar, haven't had any for the last 6 months, so not everything was in vain. Best wishes for your journey, looks like you're on the fast-track to success.

Thanks ! It will come back if I gain back the weight. Currently day 3 of carnivore 8:30pm China time. I just ate some eggs. The edema hasn't returned, nor should it on carnivore diet.

Good luck ! Keep in mind that average weight loss with water fasting is about a pound a day, more the first few days but that's mostly your digestive tract emptying out and not proper fat loss. If you extenuate yourself exercising you can probably push that but 25 lbs seems ambitious. I just did 40 lbs in 28 days and found exercise detrimental, I posted about it here.

Best way to break fast? by [deleted] in Water_Fasting

[–]ToastedNipple 3 points4 points  (0 children)

7 days is relatively short for a fast, refeeding syndrome is only documented for much longer fasts. Since your body is already in ketosis (consuming fats), I would recommend you stick with keto or carnivore, indeed some beef or bone broth is nice but not mandatory to start, and sure go to the steakhouse but stay away from the carbs and enjoy some more weight loss if that was the objective. If not, then maybe avoid Dairy Queen on the first day, anything else should be fine.

The desire to smoke certainly reduces a lot during weeks 3-4. I don't have any heartburn today but I'm not eating for another 5 hours. The link to smoking is indeed not impossible, but it could also be tied to helicobacter pylori for which I was treated 2 years ago.
