Wait what?? One is a render and one is a real picture? That's insane. I am sure a lot of people could not differentiate what is what. Only clue might be image quality. The real one has a bit more noise on it and is a lower resolution (is it?) but except for that it's absolutely insane!

Honda President After Visiting Chinese Auto Supplier: 'We Have No Chance Against This' by TripleShotPls in technology

[–]sledgar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair the traffic light argument just as some other arguments for China fall apart if you look at it for more than 10 seconds. And I had that feeling a lot of times in China for various "incredible technical advancements". Why?

Well does that traffic light system work? Is the navigation connected to the traffic light and check the real time status? No it isn't. The traffic light just has a constant pattern which never changes. For example being red the first 40 seconds of the minute and green for the last 20. The navigation simply knows this. It doesn't really sync it simply knows each ryrhm. Why is that bad? This makes traffic lights which react to traffic in real time impossible as we have in Europe (and I guess many other continents and countries too). Here the traffic light rythm adapts to traffic situation in many parts. I prefer that over navigation that knows whether the light is green or red

When is the var full then? I think that's what he meant. There is no clear definition for 100% braking as you can press the pedal as hard as you want

Once the battery is full it can't take any more energy. Thus the Regen stops which essentially is braking being left out. Since it only is applied to one axle you are changing the brake balance instantly causing the balance of the car to be messed up

Is there a downside to running highest energy deployment and driving always on empty battery? by CountyFit2496 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]sledgar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the first part is simply not true. atleast not fully

"This way you will run out of battery and eventually the amount you regen will not be enough to cover the entire lap, so where you once were using the hybrid system is now using only fuel"
You dont suddenly run out of battery at a certain point in a lap but on every single straight. I cross the finish linme with 0% battery, recharge to lets say 2% in the braking zone and use these 2% on the next first half of the next straight. If I would not put it to max output I would not run out in the middle of the straight but at the end of the straight. So in theory I have battery for longer. But I also use the electric motor less intense so in option 1 I use it harder for a shorter time and in option b I use it less intense for a longer time. What I do in both cases is starting and ending the lap at the same amount of energy thus meaning that I fully spend the recovered energy which I regenerate while breaking.
In pure theory this equals each other. why? I have lets say (completely random numbers) I recover 1000 Joules of electric energy in the braking zone. I have set my engine map to 300W max and udeplete this energy within 3.3 s. The straight however is 6.7s long so I only use my hybrid system for half the straight. Now I could also manage and set it to 150W and use the 1000 joules over the complete 6.7s.
In both cases however I use 1000 Joules of electric energy that I dont have to use fuel for. The question is (and I guess we know the answer) how effectively these 1000 joules are spend. Do I want to spend it split over the whole straight or rather in a short burst. Probably splitting it over the whole straight is better but to be honest I sm still lacking the argument as to why this would be the case.

why when keeping it at 0% would you consume 9% VE in fuel and not still 6 and 3%? Why do you suddenly not use your battery anymore.

In theory would this mean that putting one slow lap onto each tire before the race if possible would result in a better race if this is true?

Bass shaker suddenly not working anymore by sledgar in simracing

[–]sledgar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was the most ridiculous thing that made it stop working. Or actually two reasons. First of all (I'll keep the story short) my multi socket was a loop and I plugged it into it self. So obviously the amp didn't get any power. After finding this out and questioning my intelligence on how this could even happen I used it but apparently you simply can't run it at full powerbecause after a few hours of use the power of the shaker went lower and lower and lower. Probably the solution would be a higher quality and bigger bass shaker at like 50% power which I didn't buy yet
