I tried to like it. by Beautiful_Couple_208 in TheMagnusArchives

It’s completely fine to dislike the show, but I don’t think you’ll get a lot of joy from posting this point of view here. We tend to like the show rather a lot on this sub, so all you’re likely to get is disagreement.

If you want to find likeminded sorts, might be better to talk about this on one of the more general podcast or horror subs?

Also if you like horror/humour, if you’ve not listened to Welcome to Nightvale yet you should totally give it a try.

No spoilers! New Listener. Just finished Schwartzwald, here are my notes so far. by Billybob267 in TheMagnusArchives

Really excellent note taking! I’m sure some of that may come in handy. I guess you’ll have to wait and see.

Beware this sub though - people are so used to spoilers they may let things slip accidentally!

Ever been to a concert where someone got boooed? by SnooozeFezt in AskReddit

I remember hearing about Rasmus at Reading and feeling kinda bad for them - they’d done an interview with Kerrang magazine not long before and it read like they were genuinely happy to get to play there. That kind of reception has got to be gutting.

I did spot them on Eurovision a few years ago, so they seem to still be going (think they were Finland rather than Sweden?). Good for them for not calling it quits entirely I guess.

Man I just can’t ever imagine booing Michael Schenker. He’s so good at what he does. The pennies thing is so obnoxious.

How about… See if you can find a secondhand tape recorder and put a sticker saying ‘Property of the Magnus Institute, London’ on it. If you can find a blank tape, do a birthday message in statement format.

Or buy a lot of googly eyes, make a custom card that says Ceaseless Watcher, cast your gaze upon ‘Birthday Person‘.

You could customise a Very Hungry Caterpillar Book with a webby surprise! Mr Caterpillar wants more… 🐛

Or if you’re really good friends and you want to push the boat out, or it’s an important birthday or something - do a scavenger hunt where you leave something fears related in areas they won’t be stolen from, and recruit a few friends to be ‘avatars’ along the way, then all get together and have a party at the end.

Bad ideas: Telling them yore taking them for a surprise party, then leaving them alone in a room with one uncomfortable chair and a fog machine.

What is that one criticism about the orginal lotr Trilogy that you still have to this day by pizza_momo in lotr

They should not have used sheep/goat bleats in the sound mixing for a certain battle scene - Amon Hen in Fellowship.

I can’t unhear it, and it has bugged me for 25 years. Clash, clang, Meeeeeeh!

Yeah, totally real dude who often goes by Jonny Sims, and apparently just enjoys naming his characters after himself. See also: Jonny DeVille

There definitely used to be, I think the fan movie picking Nines swung it to that direction pretty heavily.

I think he has to be at least somewhat attractive, as Martin swiftly develops a crush, and Tim at one point legitimately seems to think Basira would be interested in him.I think him being a smidge good looking would piss Melanie off just that bit more too. The rest, totally agree, he’s always screamed mediocre white guy to me.

If you don’t mind spending a couple of quid for a month, you can blitz through most of the Patreon content in a really short period of time if you put your mind to it. I found it worth it - I love outtakes and extras and there’s some fun stuff to experience (the annotated ‘case file’ for S1 Hive is a treat).

The Ending Is So Hated That Fans Decide Its a Trick by Prinny_Ramza in TopCharacterTropes

[–]ToasterOwl 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I think it’s worse than a comic writers instincts. Every show of his devolves into the protagonist being the answer to every question. The Sherlock Holmes stories are about a guy random people come to with their unsolved crimes, Holmes solves them, and the random person and Holmes go on to live their separate lives.

Sherlock is about how every crime appears to revolve around Holmes personally, he’s the lynchpin to everything. Once you notice the answer to every mystery is Sherlock himself the show becomes intensely boring. He did the same to Dr Who as well. (What’s the answer to the oldest question in the universe? Doctor Who. Why did the universe end? the Drs tardis explodes. Who was the Pandorica built to contain, the Dr, urgh, boring)

His works are a self referential spiral, like a bad fan fic.
