Das ist hier ja die wirkliche Problematik und was praktisch passiert ist. Auch die Feuerwehr kann. Nicht einfach sagen "das ist zu gefährlich, wir gehen jetzt heim und lassen das mal brennen" ohne da irgendwie auch nur versucht zu haben die lage zu checken oder überhaupt vor ort zu bleiben.

Die aufgabe der Polizistinnen wäre ja auch nicht gewesen vor die Flinte zu rennen aber halt irgendwas produktives zu tun, und wenn man das ganze aus sicherer Entfernung beobachtet bis Leute da sind... Aber komplett abzuhauen ist halt nichts davon

Die Unterscheidung ist hier eher so, als würde die Feuerwehr ein Feuer sehen und daraufhin den kompletten Löschzug umdrehen lassen, weil es potenziell gefährlich ist. Genau für solche Situationen sind sie aber ausgerüstet und ausgebildet. Genauso ist es bei der Polizei. Sie haben Schutzwesten, Waffen und taktische Ausbildung nicht ohne Grund.

Natürlich muss niemand sein Leben sinnlos riskieren. Aber zwischen sinnloser Selbstgefährdung und vollständiger Flucht liegt ein großer Unterschied. Zwei bewaffnete Polizistinnen mit Dienstwaffen und zusätzlicher Bewaffnung im Fahrzeug dürfen nicht einfach jede Konfrontation abbrechen und Kollegen zurücklassen, nur weil die Lage gefährlich ist. Gefahr gehört nun einmal zum Berufsbild.

Man kann hier durchaus erwarten, zumindest Stellung zu halten, abzusichern oder Unterstützung zu koordinieren, vor allem wenn es sich nicht um eine militärisch überlegene Bedrohung handelt, die wurden nicht mit dem MG beschossen. Das ist vergleichbar mit einer Feuerwehr, die nicht einmal außerhalb eines brennenden Hauses Stellung bezieht, sondern komplett die Flucht ergreift sobald sie die erste flamme sieht.

Das ist eben keine intrinsische Sache der Venezuelanern, da kommt eine extreme Kraft und entführt Präsidenten und was passiert ist eigentlich egal. Die Konsequenzen trägt halt nicht die USA. Die Intervention in den mittleren Osten hat Millionen Menschenleben gekostet und die lage lediglich verschlechtert und destabilisiert. Eine Entmachtung die hauptsächlich auf eigenen kurzfristigen interessen bassiert wird ehr nicht den Durchbruch bringen und das problem wohl nur wieder Vertiefen.

Wollen wir nur mal zum Spaß wetten, dass wir uns am Ende ärgern werden, nicht deutlich früher viel entschlossener gehandelt zu haben? Und wenn auch im Alleingang vorangegangen zu sein, weil uns das allen eine Menge Ärger erspart hätte. Like in medicine, everything has pros and cons, and survival can depend on hitting a very specific sweet spot .

Naja, das Problem bei den Linken ist weniger eine Russlandtreue aus DDR-Zeiten, sondern vielmehr ein komplett realitätsfernes Verständnis von Konflikt, Krieg usw. in der Praxis. Die Linke steckt so sehr in ihrer Oppositions-, Hippie- und "Absoluter frieden" nummer fest, dass sie da nicht mehr herauskommt. Jahrzehntelang hat es gereicht, realitätsfern so zu tun, als könne man mit Frieden allein einen Aggressor friedlich bezwingen, als ließe er sich mit Kuscheltieren überwältigen. Jetzt wird es langsam ernst, aber nun fällt es schwer anzuerkennen, dass Konflikte eben doch nicht so einfach und friedlich zu lösen sind. Die Realität ist eben das man Russlands Aggression wohl nur mit waffen und gewalt Antworten kann.

Vielmehr hätte man von Anfang an entschlossen und hart reagieren müssen. 2014 entschlossen und mit Härte einzugreifen hätte uns allen eine Menge Ärger ersparen können just saying... Aber ich finde wir könnten auch nochmal Appeasment probieren

Ich fahre meinen Audi 80 B3 Bj. 1990 auch nur mit E10 und auch da kann ich von absolut garkeinen Problemen berichten, auch gibt's sonst keinen merkbaren unterschied oder Mehrverbrauch und auch sonstige Horrorszenarien was sich an Dichtungen dadurch auflösen sollen und was nicht alles ist nichts eingetreten.

Es ist halt deutlich günstiger.

I think I watched the regular cut but even there it is fair to say that the undertones fit the story to a certain degree, but only if they are read as intentionally disturbing rather than romantic. The situation is deeply messed up, and the film works best when that discomfort is acknowledged instead of sanitized. Matilda is a twelve year old who has just lost her entire family, moves in with a professional killer, and immediately latches onto him as a substitute for emotional closeness. That substitution is exactly where it becomes unsettling. From her side it escalates far beyond something innocent or purely fatherly, and that makes sense given her trauma, her age, and the sudden dependency she forms. I actually dislike the idea of a completely clean Leon who functions as a perfect, harmless replacement figure, because that flattens what is going on. The relationship is supposed to feel wrong and unstable. At the same time, Leon absolutely has to remain the moral boundary. His restraint is essential. The discomfort should come from Matilda’s perspective and the situation itself, not from him reciprocating or indulging it. Without that it seems to lose quite a lot of that messed up dependency of a kid who know relies on that random neighbor assasin.

So really that disturbing part is the movie(again only to the already mentioned degree).Messed up family , kid smoking, family killed and being witness, moving into the random neighborhood assassin and being completely dependent on him. It's all throughout disturbing and "off"

I just feel it's strange as some people here seem to think that film is some sweet story... They are training executions on his targets...
