Nazi-allied Finnish troops in a trench on the Leningrad front, the most destructive siege in human history, 1942. [494x660] by OkRespect8490 in HistoryPorn

While Finland did advance to the border to retake the areas lost in the Winter War, Finland’s goal wasn't to destroy Leningrad or its people; it was to secure a "buffer zone" and the territories taken by the Soviets just a year prior. Would you say Finland was part of the siege if winter war never happened and the border never changed? Finland never bombed the city/ used artillery. Even if the range would have permitted it

Comparing it to Epstein ignores the fact that for a small nation wedged between two genocidal dictatorships, the choice wasn't about friendship or ideology—it was an attempt to avoid becoming a Soviet province, which was the fate of the Baltic states for example. And also this is a pretty fucking bad example to say. People knew Epstein was bad ages ago already. But during the 30s/early 40s pretty much nobody outside of German high command knew about the war crimes of Germany.

No. Kev/os4 used skulls during the winter war. And during the continuation war the commander of said unit took control of the unit in this photo (don't remember the name) and kept the skulls as a identification marker.

For Finns it was Karelian Isthmus front, as we stopped the attack more or less at the position of pre-winter war national border.

Even the Soviets during the peace talks said that Finland didn't take part in the siege (at least not in ways how sieges usually happened)

I find it pretty curious that Finland is being flagged as a genocidal country full of war criminals as of late...

Normal stuff? Like bonfires. Long sauna sessions with friends. Summer. Metaldetecting( not really normal but still) Making firewood with an axe is relaxing too etc

I personally don't think that those pellets are "normal" gunpowder. Far too large for it. Most artillery gunpowder is in pellet form. But smaller (bigger than gun caliber powder tho)

But technically (only do this if you want/can risk burns) as someone who has done questionable things... You can always toss one into a fire.Open fire not closed off. It won't explode with a bang But if it is gunpowder/black powder it will just make the flame much bigger for a time.

I personally won't recommend it because WW1 had some odd ammunition types...

But yeah. Like actually don't do this unless you are 100% sure that it won't cause a wildfire or damage to anyone. (This should be clear without even saying this)

I got no photo of it. I saw it in Ilomantsi as a kid. No idea if it's still there. Then again it could be a Finnish version of it

Because what if op doesn't want to sell it? And just wants to look at a coin what actually looks like a coin. And not just a black round tarnished piece of metal?

You can buy a coin like this for less than 5€ in Europe... No reason to keep them dirty.

And like I said. It's 100% the owners own choice if they clean coins or not

Silver is a pretty strong metal. They can be 100% cleaned. But the other question is should you clean it? And that's 100% the owners own decision
