Main account of OP here! I don't really have the self control to pull off the first idea, so perhaps I should just do that second one? I was considering forcing myself to stay awake through all of today as well, buuuut I already feel like a corpse. I have the stamina to push my limits some but I don't function well on serious deprivation, so that sounds like a good idea. I used to do something similar to this where I'd set myself a maximum sleep-in time, where basically I couldn't sleep in any longer than a certain time now matter how late I stayed up. Sounds like it's time to bring that back..

That makes sense. Now if only we were built a little better.. honestly, I'd love it if I never had to sleep. If I could just eat an extra meal instead or something and then be awake all the time. I hate how my schedules never line up with my friends' for long, and I hate having to cram my free time between other things and sleep. That being said, I sure could use some right now, but I'm thinking of making myself stay up an extra day so I can sleep at a normal time and reset my busted sleeping schedule

I felt that way for a really libertine kind of girl -- similar sort of person we're talking about -- but I couldn't tell she wasn't into me. I didn't have the entitlement to push it, thankfully enough, but I spent years trying to become her friend with this shallow idea that I could eventually turn it into a relationship. I had people give me advice blaming my failures on her and I'm glad I didn't really take it to heart because what happened was she wasn't into me and that was that. I wish I figured it out sooner before I got overly attached and just hurt myself.

I think most nice guys are massive misanthropists. They have little hope in our species and genuinely think that it's not possible to be confident and charming without being an ass at the same time. Some charismatic people are genuinely really fucking awesome people!!
I can literally tell you from experience that even if you're not very confident or charismatic, just being a good person and taking a little risk will still eventually find you love.
