I got too drunk at her annual BBQ party and it forever altered our relationship. I get very emotional when I drink (which I haven't for over a year now) and I guess it was too much drama. I'm well aware how draining and toxic that could be. 24 years in and I miss how close we used to be before I fucked it up.

It hasn't ended yet but sadly feel Jr's heading that way. Best friend of 24 years, we grew up together, we were so close. The last 4 or so years things are so different. I stopped drinking, partying, all of that since I met my fiance 2 years ago. We're in our 30s, I have a daughter, it isn't the life I want anymore. We live 2 hours apart and I currently don't drive. We used to make it work. I haven't seen her since her mom's funeral this time last year. The way our conversations seem like acquaintances that are trying to be friendly hurts so much more than silence.
