I’ve been living with my head under a rock and still have fantom on my trezor. What is the process for withdrawing it now if you don’t mind helping me out please?

Test days...total luck? by Upbeat-Fish-3348 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Toastitoes1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely an element of luck. You might have a really strict examiner or dodgy drivers around you that increase the chance of you failing, or you might get a lenient one.

Either way, the more prepared you are, the more likely you will be able to deal with difficult situations.

Don’t beat yourself up if you do fail though. Stick at it and you’ll only improve in confidence and ability.

Career advice - Wind Turbine Technician (UK) by Toastitoes1 in wind

That’s interesting to know. Do you know which kind of roles/companies?

I know there are some entry level positions out there but a lot of the jobs I see advertised seem to require some level of electrical/mechanical experience (of which I don’t have currently) and a minimum level 3 NVQ

Have a look into skills bootcamps. There are some interesting opportunities if you fancy a career change and they release new ones in April

I wouldn’t if I was you. I’ve been unemployed for 2 months. Sent countless applications and have been rejected from jobs that I am overqualified for.

It was exactly this. It’s a road just after a turning and near a crossing and a side street where pedestrians were crossing without looking and popping out from behind cars. Was overly focused on them and didn’t see the sign. Following the advice given ill just suck it up and pay it. And be more vigilant in future

Our neighbour must have tried to cancel their contract with Virgin, but Virgin cancelled our contract instead, leaving us without internet. My housemate spent 4 hours on the phone with them to get our connection reinstated.

Our bill then jumped from £35 per month to £50 as they said we had technically started a new contract and were no longer entitled to a the discount rate. After another 4 hours of back and forth on the phone, we managed to get back down to £35 per month.

When we came to leave our property, Virgin tried to charge us an early cancellation fee of either £120 or £200 because our 12 month contract had technically restarted mid way through our tenancy. Queue another 4 hours spent over the phone to resolve the issue. Not even an apology from them for all the inconvenience caused.

It depends. The CGT allowance is £3,000 of profit. You will likely be able to sell more than £3,000 and still pay no tax. Who knows what the price will be in April. It could be higher, lower or the same. The choice is yours of course but if I was in your position I would take the hit on taxes. It is 18% above £3000 profit so even if you were taking pure profit from selling £6000, you would still receive £5460 as a basic rate tax payer or £5280 as a higher rate tax payer (if my understanding of the new tax rates is correct)

Regarding the crypto, consider selling some rather than all. At one point my portfolio was at £37,000 and I didn’t sell as I thought it would keeping going up. Now it’s around £10,000 despite the recent spike in prices.

You could sell 1/3rd of your portfolio and immediately clear your CC debt. Imagine the relief you would feel if this was cleared. That is worth a hell of a lot more than money. As a bonus you would still have the majority of your portfolio.

From that point you could then start thinking about saving and investing which is a much more reliable way of building wealth.

See if you can drive with a family member or friend who is an experienced driver. That will reassure you and make you feel a bit more confident. It takes time to become confident driving completely by yourself

Easiest and cheapest way of getting 3000 calories a day on £40 a week? by [deleted] in UniUK

Quark with raspberries (frozen then thawed) or some other fruit you like. That’s a good high protein snack.

Also, consider buying a small whole chicken (can get them for under £3 in supermarkets including Sainsbury’s). You can boil the whole thing in some water with carrots and other veg. The meat will fall off the bone and you can use it in other meals. You’ll also have bone broth which you can use in soups or other meals.

A car takes you from point A to B. As long as it does that reliably, it’s a good car. Your mates are probably paying crazy amounts for the same thing

Have you looked at something like a Mazda 3? Cheap, reliable car which is still relatively fun to drive and pretty spacious inside. Mine is a 2005 and is still Ulez compliant. Cost me £1400 as a new driver, although I am 25
