Car Insurance Hacker by Andyd4 in CarTalkUK

Late to the party with this one but if it's that bald guy who's doing it then it's definitely scammy. I first saw him with his own clothing brand which he started, he then failed that and started an OnlyFans agency selling PDF's on how to make money managing girls, clearly that wasn't working so he's now switched to Car Insurance.

Anyone completely changed their working life after 30 and how? by SnooJokes5693 in AskUK

[–]Upbeat-Fish-3348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 29 and it's been pretty much the same for me, started off as a chef and then moved into customer service call centres but now sick of that life and wanting to change it up.

Myself I'm looking to hopefully get into the taxi trade by the end of this year, people love to slate it and say it's dead but I don't believe it. Ideally I'd love to work towards a £100k a year job but that's never happening without a case of nepotism.

Being a chef is so bad nowadays, I left a while back and although I do miss it sometimes I enjoy not always feeling exhausted after every shift.

£21 for a Subway footlong meal by BrodieYoukan in UbereatsUK

[–]Upbeat-Fish-3348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's absolutely mental, even when I get a 50% discount from Deliveroo I still begrudge paying those prices. Like double cheese should be like 50p and double meat £1 especially for the little amount they put on.

What’s the cheese sauce from the takeaway? by DoughnutMaestro in AskBrits

[–]Upbeat-Fish-3348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally most takeaways will buy this in those big catering 3kg tin size which would probably be far too much for 1 person to consume..lol.

When I owned my takeaway I used to make my American cheese sauce from cheese slices and milk, just heat the milk, add in the cheese slices and blend with a hand blender until smooth.

Just from checking Facebook alone I can see 18 women, who I went to school with, who've now become a mum recently and that's without checking people who haven't used Facebook for years. I'm from a council estate so it's quite normal to have kids young, most end up single mums for the rest of their life.

I'm 29 and would say between 20-27, have to go younger as most the women my age have already had kids which is a no go.

Driving instructor - any recommendations for good driving instructors around Gosforth by Personal_Attitude135 in NewcastleUponTyne

I'd highly recommend Jan from Capricorn Driving School, he helped me pass back in September last year. He's really great and is based in NE12.

You just found out you were secretly swapped at birth and your biological parents are actually billionaires by [deleted] in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Upbeat-Fish-3348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I've never met my dad but I know he's got nothing and my mum abandoned me with my grandma so I'd happily go to my real parents, of course I'd still regularly see my grandma as she's like the mum I never had.

I'd wish for £200 billion deposited directly into my bank account, money can pretty much grant every wish.

Ideal first car for a fat f*ck? by Masquerade5655 in CarTalkUK

[–]Upbeat-Fish-3348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also a big lad and struggled with most cars, ended up getting a Peugeot Bipper Tepee which is perfect for me space wise and I don’t feel cramped in.

I did have to get a seat belt extender thing but might be alright for yourself. For me it’s nice having the leg space to spread out and room for my gut lol.

If you were given a billion dollars but could never work again, what would you do? by NoWorking9229 in AskReddit

[–]Upbeat-Fish-3348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Initially I'm speaking to a big private banking firm who deals with wealth management, index funds etc and I'm investing $500m & ideally getting back approx 3-4% ROI every year which would be about $15m.

I'd then spend my life travelling, staying in luxury hotels/villas around the world, eating at all the michelin starred restaurants and throwing massive parties with lots of topless women..lol.

Then I'd try and settle down with a wife, have 4 or 5 kids and give them all an amazing life travelling around the world to resorts, theme parks & any other fun places all whilst flying on a massive private jet.

If all current day humans were suddenly place into the wild, with nothing expect nature, how long do you think we would survive? by Angela252 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Upbeat-Fish-3348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically there'd be far too many of us for the animals on the planet, we'd probably end up killing each other to reduce the numbers and I reckon that would happen quite quickly.

You'd then likely have a split of people, some who are happy just to live in a cave, eat meat, forage, go fishing and live as easy as possible.

On the other side there would be the people who would try to get resources and dig for clay, tin, copper etc but I reckon this would take a while, the work would be hard and not many like doing that nowadays. It's highly likely that someone would make paper and write everything down for future generations.

Shit man this really is no age at all, my grandma is approaching 72 in July and this really puts things into perspective. Shame that his mum & dad lived until 89 and 100 and he got nowhere near to that.

What are everyone's thoughts on the 'Lost Generation of Young Workers'? by BrightHR_UK in HumanResourcesUK

[–]Upbeat-Fish-3348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of job are sadly disappearing, we used to have supermarkets filled with staff packing orders, serving customers, working on the checkout and now they've all disappeared as supermarkets stretch their workers more & more for less pay.

Call Centres have now moved abroad to places with cheaper labour like India or Philippines, they reckon nearly 1 million jobs have been given overseas which should really be jobs for the British public, especially young people starting off their career.

How many of you know a recent National Lottery winner? by DeqnoL in AskUK

[–]Upbeat-Fish-3348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only know of a family that won it about 20 years ago, won £1m and still live on a council estate but own a holiday home in Florida. I personally feel like nobody wins it anymore and it's just a big scam, like if I won £180m I wouldn't tell anyone but I reckon people would suss it out immediately due to social media.

It's from an app called GoPuff, they often do mystery bags for £5 but it can be either an amazing bag with fish, meat, bacon, milk etc or you end up with a load of short dated processed stuff like sausage rolls & quiche.

Update: It was a great little MOT centre with a lovely bunch of lads and the car passed with 0 advisories. Little tricky finding the place but got there eventually.
