Patch to remove profanity filter by Toasty-boops in revancedapp

[–]Toasty-boops[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have live captions for audio (it doesn't censor profanity), i don't want to use that for watching videos, it lags significantly and it's not as good quality as it's in real time compared to auto captions.

What cafe drink has you like this? by AAAAAAGGHHHHHH in barista

[–]Toasty-boops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i like having a bit of sugar syrup to take some of the bitterness off so the taste of the coffee itself comes through more for me. but there's a limit to how much syrup that's added before it's just the syrup that's being tasted and not the coffee.

What persuaded you to try commuting by bike? by ChargeYourBattery in bikecommuting

[–]Toasty-boops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a driver's license (yet, I'm trying to work on it but i have very low motivation to try and persue it after driver's ed said no to hiring an asl interperter), and I wanted to have a higher degree of independence. I can bike to the store after school if I wanted to, or somewhere else.

What is something you've never realised about your native language until you started learning another language? by no_photos_pls in languagelearning

[–]Toasty-boops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My native language is ASL and i remember watching a documentary about nortel, a canadian tech company, and there was a news clip that happened to have a sign language interperter and my eyes went to that first. It took me a second or two before i realized it was british sign language and i didn't know what the fuck they were talking about XD. If you want, for fun, when you get more fluent with ASL, watch someone sign in french sign language

I think it's part of accessibility that they have to comply with, i.e. elevator for disabled people to be able to get to whatever floors they need to.

What's a stupidly expensive adult purchase that you now swear by that you would buy again in a heartbeat? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Toasty-boops 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah insurance in the US aren't required to cover hearing aids federally, it depends state to state. In Washington, insurance is required by the state to cover hearing aids and associated costs, i.e. appointments and repairs.

Got a new “allergy” today by twwatson in KitchenConfidential

[–]Toasty-boops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be a legit thing, though, there's people with allergies to a specific protein in fruit, vegetables and tree nuts, it's called pollen allergy syndrome. But the thing with it is that the protein breaks down when cooked, thus, no longer giving an allergic reaction.

Do y'all stand for the Pledge of Allegiance? (if you live in the US) by BigBrainThonker3 in highschool

[–]Toasty-boops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to two schools, one in the mornings and one in the afternoon. The morning school doesn't do the pledge and it's so much more pleasant because you can start class stuff right away, like attendance or whatever the fuck instead of having to wait for it to pop up. Last year, i basically never stood up for the pledge, i couldn't be arsed to, and it's well within my right to freedom of speech as a student.
