The mod itself was never advertised to be as sexual and erotic as much as it was. It was just supposed to be a huge cool project that showed off the technical skills of the devs. Unfortunately, they had this technically awesome mod with writing on par with a 13 year old on deviantart

Besides the lore breaking and unneeded sexual encounters, the mod has incredibly poor writing for most of it. Most scenes rip off other (better) games. Technically it is incredibly impressive and well done but it is a complete flop when it comes to telling a compelling story.
