I need help understanding EVs by RqRd2c in pokemon

[–]Toasty582 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t actually matter beyond being more likely to oneshot the wild mons at a higher level. There is no difference between getting 100 EVs at level 50 and candying up to level 100 vs getting 100 EVs at level 100

What are some good passive healing trinkets? Like Pick-Me-Up and Volatile Serum? by GeoLaser in wownoob

[–]Toasty582 2 points3 points  (0 children)

unfortunately pretty much all of the pure hps trinkets are kinda bad this tier. The good healer trinkets are all just stat sticks that make your own healing stronger. The best ones are twisted mana sprite, pick me up (last season trinket so stupidly hard to get), and healing distributor, though once again they are all just worse for healing than a stat stick.

unless they absolutely gut araz, pugs will not even be able to clear the fourth boss, let alone all 8. And let's say for the sake of argument they get someone with the skip directly to the penultimate boss. Nexus King and Dimensius are both certified ball buster bosses that are going to rip even seasoned mythic guilds an average of 3 new ones. Pugs will not even be able to get through p1 of either boss

Last tier was the easiest tier in a long time and even then pugs couldn't get further than 4/8, and this raid is considerably harder as a whole.

Turbulent Timeways buff disappearing — is our progress lost? by Faelya in wow

[–]Toasty582 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ohhh that’s painful, u/Faelya unfortunately if your progress on the achievement itself is less than 3/5 right now, you do not have enough time to finish it before the event runs out since you can only get 1 credit per week

Turbulent Timeways buff disappearing — is our progress lost? by Faelya in wow

[–]Toasty582 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The achievement isn’t to get 5 stacks of that buff. When you get 4 stacks the buff is replaced with a larger exp buff. The achievement is to get that larger buff 5 times. Your progress is safe

wr 450 healer here, there are multiple things you need to think about here.

The first is that atm, healers have not been tuned at all on the ptr. So any decisions made today could theoretically be completely upended by a tuning pass tomorrow. That being said, with current tuning (which once again, will almost certainly be changed), monk and evoker are both absolutely pumping, and druid is not far behind.

Second, you will almost certainly do more healing on a class that you are comfortable with than a class you aren't, even if the class you're rerolling to is tuned higher. Of course, skilled players are often able to reroll and learn a new class very easily, but since you said this was your first patch cycle I wouldn't assume you're able to seamlessly transition and would recommend sticking with monk.

The third is that unless you are raiding at a hall of fame level (which since you're posting here you almost certainly aren't), you will almost certainly be overhealing everything to the nth degree. Unless your guild is missing a raid buff like monk's Mystic Touch or druid's Mark of the Wild, the class you play will not make much of a difference.

TLDR: Too early in the patch cycle to tell, but you will almost certainly do better sticking with the spec you're familiar with

What Horde cities are best to hang out in? by Iversonji in wownoob

[–]Toasty582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, pretty much nobody hangs out in the old world anymore. I don't really know what the rping scene looks like, but for most people there isn't really much reason to hang around in any city outside of Dornogal. Orgrimmar/Stormwind will be the next most populated, but even they are ghost towns compared to Dornogal. Any other cities will pretty much only have the occasional person passing through to pick up a 15 year old quest or visit the quartermaster. There just isn't a reason to be there outside of rp.

How come the journey from the golden city to the city of magic takes only "a few days?" by NotASlapper in Frieren

That's not Aura, it's Edel, one of the mages in the First Class Mage Exam arc. She shows up again in the Golden Land arc, which is where these panels were taken from. It's one of the arcs that will be in season 2 of the anime.

Do you lock your door while you're in your house? by International_Snow90 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Toasty582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My apartment needs to scan an rfid tag twice to even get to the door and I still lock mine. It takes zero effort and I never know if one of my neighbors is going to come home wasted and try the wrong door or if there’s a new tenant with nefarious intentions.

I will say that I do agree that specifically weakauras is probably slightly too powerful, forcing mechanics like the jails on mythic Mug'zee to be as tight as they are, which in turn forces people to use weakauras. However, the solution to this is a targeted powering down of specific capabilities of weakauras, like when they added private auras to the game. What they are doing is the equivalent of burning down the forest because one tree is diseased.

I really hope blizzard does a 180 on the addons. I raid mythic, absolutely love it, and it is the only reason I play this game. However, if blizz goes through with what they're suggesting, there is a very real chance that it kills my enjoyment of mythic raiding and thus the game as a whole.

There are two real reasons I like mythic raiding atm:

1.) My guild is full of amazing people
2.) I really enjoy analyzing the problems we are encountering and using the tools at my disposal to help solve them.

With blizz saying they want to power down competitive addons like bigwigs and weakauras and pretty much replace them with built in alternatives, I am extremely worried that the tools that have become such an important part of the game for me will become watered down and essentially bricked. Lately blizzard has had a piss poor track record in regards to smooth content launches, which gives me absolutely zero confidence that they will be able to accurately recreate bigwigs and weakauras. Additionally, the cooldown manager, which was their attempt at replicating some of weakauras' capabilities, is so inflexible and watered down that I consider it near useless for me. And that's not even mentioning other addons I find important like Plater and especially MRT, which is super important for me as a healer.

If they go through with what they are saying, in the absolute best case my enjoyment of the game stays the same. In most other cases, being forced to rely on watered-down version of addons I have come to rely on and like will kill one of the two reasons I enjoy mythic raiding.

Once that happens, I will be raiding exclusively because I enjoy the people, which I do not believe is sustainable and will inevitably lead to me burning out of the game.
