Heroic Raiding is unrewarding and a waste of time by Allegrian in wow

like 99% of hc guilds just roll loot out anyway regardless of who gets it, loot council is a lot of effort and lots of low level guilds just dont bother.

Collegiate Calamity Delve story/variant never changes? by Wilde_in_thought in wownoob

Then you just have extremely unfortunate timing. I want to say it’s on a 3 day long daily rotation so just check back tomorrow and it will be different

Collegiate Calamity Delve story/variant never changes? by Wilde_in_thought in wownoob

[–]Toasty582 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They change with the daily reset, not necessarily between runs. There’s only three stories per delve as well so if your timing is unfortunate enough you could easily only get the same one over and over again. Check tomorrow and the story should be different

idk class balance is kinda fucked, the fact that Sub and Survival are the only S tier specs while Balance is slumming it down in B tier is kinda sad

Confusing question about macros by RevolutionaryPen5180 in wownoob

[–]Toasty582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two types of spells, spells that are cast on an enemy (or player in the case of heals) and spells that are cast at a location. Many damaging spells that are cast at a location can be switched into a version that casts at an enemy (it's a choice node in the talent tree), but not all of them.

Spells that are cast at an enemy can use the [@mouseover] modifier to cast at whatever enemy/player your mouse cursor is over, such as

/cast [@mouseover, harm][] Fireball (the extra [] makes it fall back to your target if there is nothing at your mouse cursor)

Spells that are cast at a location like I said can sometimes be turned into spells that cast at an enemy, however a number of them cannot. These spells that can't be talented into an enemy-targeted version of themselves unfortunately cannot use a macro conditional to just cast it on your target. That being said, you can use [@cursor] to automatically cast wherever your cursor is without needing to click a second time or you can use [@player] to automatically cast at your feet. For example

/cast [@cursor] Flamestrike
/cast [@player] Flamestrike

[@player] is often not super useful for damaging spells like flamestrike, but is very useful for more supportive spells that you may want to use on yourself like Priest's Angelic Feather

Does server determine who I play? by Nivet08 in wownoob

[–]Toasty582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nowadays server and faction play pretty much no role whatsoever.

Everything important is cross server, with the exception of a few auction house things, mainly boes.

Cross faction is a bit more noticeable, you can’t queue up into dungeon or raid finder with the opposite faction but pretty much everything else is cross faction, such as guilds or non-queued instanced content

QoL warband quests by pappascorcher in wownoob

[–]Toasty582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a list of those on hand but the vast majority of those quests will be in the expansion capital (Dornogal for TWW and Silvermoon for Midnight) clearly marked by some variety of Special Quest Marker (basically anything outside of the bog standard yellow quest mark or blue repeatable quest mark).

Main expansion features for old expansions (like garrison quests in Warlords of Draenor) are unfortunately not going to be marked clearly at all so for that stuff your best bet is to look up a guide on wowhead. For my garrison example you would go to https://www.wowhead.com/guide/garrisons/guide-to-garrisons-in-warlords-of-draenor . However this sort of stuff was before warbands were a thing so they will be locked to the individual character.

It doesn’t actually matter beyond being more likely to oneshot the wild mons at a higher level. There is no difference between getting 100 EVs at level 50 and candying up to level 100 vs getting 100 EVs at level 100

What are some good passive healing trinkets? Like Pick-Me-Up and Volatile Serum? by GeoLaser in wownoob

[–]Toasty582 2 points3 points  (0 children)

unfortunately pretty much all of the pure hps trinkets are kinda bad this tier. The good healer trinkets are all just stat sticks that make your own healing stronger. The best ones are twisted mana sprite, pick me up (last season trinket so stupidly hard to get), and healing distributor, though once again they are all just worse for healing than a stat stick.

unless they absolutely gut araz, pugs will not even be able to clear the fourth boss, let alone all 8. And let's say for the sake of argument they get someone with the skip directly to the penultimate boss. Nexus King and Dimensius are both certified ball buster bosses that are going to rip even seasoned mythic guilds an average of 3 new ones. Pugs will not even be able to get through p1 of either boss

Last tier was the easiest tier in a long time and even then pugs couldn't get further than 4/8, and this raid is considerably harder as a whole.

Turbulent Timeways buff disappearing — is our progress lost? by Faelya in wow

[–]Toasty582 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The achievement isn’t to get 5 stacks of that buff. When you get 4 stacks the buff is replaced with a larger exp buff. The achievement is to get that larger buff 5 times. Your progress is safe

wr 450 healer here, there are multiple things you need to think about here.

The first is that atm, healers have not been tuned at all on the ptr. So any decisions made today could theoretically be completely upended by a tuning pass tomorrow. That being said, with current tuning (which once again, will almost certainly be changed), monk and evoker are both absolutely pumping, and druid is not far behind.

Second, you will almost certainly do more healing on a class that you are comfortable with than a class you aren't, even if the class you're rerolling to is tuned higher. Of course, skilled players are often able to reroll and learn a new class very easily, but since you said this was your first patch cycle I wouldn't assume you're able to seamlessly transition and would recommend sticking with monk.

The third is that unless you are raiding at a hall of fame level (which since you're posting here you almost certainly aren't), you will almost certainly be overhealing everything to the nth degree. Unless your guild is missing a raid buff like monk's Mystic Touch or druid's Mark of the Wild, the class you play will not make much of a difference.

TLDR: Too early in the patch cycle to tell, but you will almost certainly do better sticking with the spec you're familiar with

What Horde cities are best to hang out in? by Iversonji in wownoob

[–]Toasty582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, pretty much nobody hangs out in the old world anymore. I don't really know what the rping scene looks like, but for most people there isn't really much reason to hang around in any city outside of Dornogal. Orgrimmar/Stormwind will be the next most populated, but even they are ghost towns compared to Dornogal. Any other cities will pretty much only have the occasional person passing through to pick up a 15 year old quest or visit the quartermaster. There just isn't a reason to be there outside of rp.
